Same Old Jean Francois

CNS News reports that Secretary of State Jean Francois Kennedy Heinz Fonda Kerry on Monday told the staff of the U.S. Embassy in London that he considers himself “not just “ a citizen of the U.S., “but as a citizen of the world.”

Well, isn’t that special? We still don’t have an America desk at the State Department. But then who expected one in the administration of a president who is hostile to the concept of American exceptionalism (except when America is, to his dim lights, exceptionally bad and needs to be apologized for), and is squeamish about American military power?

Would that Monsieur le Secretary and his clueless boss, both of whom believe more in the left-wing abstraction of “the world” than they do in the country whose interests they are supposed to be protecting, could be traded to the UN for an America-first patriot to be named later. If, as is almost certainly the case, no one at the UN fits this description, then a case of Gatorade will do.

Who was the last Secretary of State of either party who accomplished anything positive in that position?
