Sesame Street collects a handful of video clips to demonstrate today’s “word on the street”: reporter. Elmo gives the craft a try, but soon comes across a conundrum: “It’s hard to tell about what’s happening when nothing is happening.” The answer, of course, is to invite a dancing penguin on screen.

It’s amazing how often actual journalism works this way. Remember, for instance, pink slime?
