Both the Tea Party Patriots and its vendor, Active Engagement,
have now issued far classier apologies to Karl Rove and
explanations for the vendor’s error.
See here. The apologies left no wiggle room — and thus, they
meet the right standard for correcting bad mistakes. Well done.
Now it is incumbent on Mr. Rove to show equal class by publicly
accepting the apology and urging everybody on the right to move on,
leave this behind us, and to still try to find common ground where
and when we can. It would also help if he would announce that his
new venture is aimed at boosting his own candidates, not at doing
negative ads against other conservatives.
Let’s aim more of our fire at the left, and less at each
other.

Mr H....I agree. How about encouraging Mr Rove to show leadership on this, by personally refraining from badmouthing duly elected Republican Primary winners. We will never be able to give the statists the drubbing they deserve, until we can all learn to rally behind whoever the primary determines is our standard bearer.

Mike

Good point. You'll see that I already issued a couple of challenges to Rove, above. But yes, he should refrain from blasting Republican nominees (unless, like Akin, they just friggin are intent on pulling everybody down with them). I've criticized him in the past: http://spectator.org/blog/2010.....-karl-rove

Nice article Mr H. Sorry I missed it when you first published it. Might I suggest you (re) send Mr rove a personal copy...you can sign my name to it if you wish. :-)
Also...as a side note...if you have any drag with the folk who run the web site, could you please ask them to put an "edit" button in the comment part. The "preview" button isn't helping much. My iPad and I are having a running battle over who gets to decide what actually gets posted...sometimes I win....most times...not so much.

Mike

I've criticized him in the past:...
I'm sure he was crushed!
Don't y'all find it interesting that Rove was the one to get this shitfest underway, yet he is now somehow the poor victim, who is due the most groveling apologies? Interesting.
And where, might I ask, did Mr Rove issue his apology to the unwashed masses of TEA peeps?
Awww! I bet this is one of those "We're better than them" deals, ain't it? Dang, I always fail miserably at the "turn the other cheek" first thingies...
N8tivTxn| 2.19.13 @ 5:34PM
PS: We all know Rove would never pay off some lowly vendor to portray himself in such an egregious manner, thereby putting his adversaries on the defensive... don't we?
mike 3/505| 2.19.13 @ 5:45PM
Pretty Machiavellian. I like Machiavellian. I just wish Mr Rove would use those talents in full throated support of whatever candidate the primary process produces.
N8tivTxn| 2.19.13 @ 8:21PM
... wish Rove...in full throated support...
I lost all confidence in Rove supporting anyone other than the hand picked NE Liberal (R)s anointees, after his most recent project's mission statement was revealed. If you think We the People aren't their target, you're naive.
RIGHT damn NOW is the time to have this brawl, right out in the open. Rove has the upper hand, due to his platform at Fox. Too many self-described "conservatives" watch that drivel and buy his schtick... think he looks out for their interest.
Will our side still be sending him money for his little projects after we lose another election? I can't wait to watch him tango around my chrome plated new Senator, Ted Cruz.
Quin Hillyer| 2.19.13 @ 6:23PM
In this case, there was nothing Machiavellian. The vendor self-admittedly screwed up.
mike 3/505| 2.19.13 @ 6:37PM
Mr H,
That is true....but I still like Machiavelli, along with Atilla the Hun...all in the right proportions of course. :-)
N8tivTxn| 2.19.13 @ 3:55PM
... other conservatives.???
Ah'hem... Okie dokie...

Yes, they should have apologized for over-the-top and historically untrue ad hominems against Rove. Playing the Hitler card is what we expect from the far left.
However, this does not get Rove off the hook. He's still the same establishment type who is leading the Republican Party into oblivion.
