The Impossible

For what it’s worth…. since I blogged the other day favorably about the movies Argo, Flight, Les Miserables, Lincoln, and especially Zero Dark Thirty, let me now update it: I saw The Impossible last night — the movie about a family caught in the horrid Thailand tsunami — and it was really, really, really good as well. Hollywood is on a roll.

Do you think it bodes well for the country that Hollywood is on a roll?

Why do you keep giving money to the Hollywood goons? They make some benign movies but ultimately each one of the studios, actors and directors are opposed to traditional American values.

This is not an original thought with me, in fact it may have come from Quin, but I am not going to view everything in life in political terms. That is what the left does. Movies are entertainment. Judge them as such and relax.

That is good for you and I understand your point. However, this medium is a powerful one that shapes peoples worldviews and subsequently political orientation. If this were not so, Hollywood, for the last 60 years, would not be using it for political purposes.
