If Ya Seen One

It was impossible to escape today. Well past four, when I thought the swearing in was safely past (the swearing at begins now), I turned on the small television set on the elliptical machine I use at my gym and dialed up Fox News. Regretfully, I found the inauguration parade was still on. When the camera panned the box the Obamas were watching the parade from, our fearless leader and his eldest daughter were not watchng the parade, but instead were staring at their smart phones. (As it seems like at least a third of the population of the republic is doing at any given time — did we actually look at each other before these things came along?)

I can only think of two reasons for this peculiar and off-putting behavior: (1) a parade in Obama’s honor is not enough to engage his attention, or (2) if ya seen one marching band, ya seen em all.

I also saw him chew his gum rather intensely, you know, like a baseball player does when he's at the plate sometimes.

And, of course, the eye rolling incident earlier in the day when Michelle looked like she'd had enough of Boehner...elbows on table as she ate.

Keep it classy, obama's!

(and just think, this is only day 1).

I missed it, as I haven't turned on the TV for weeks, but I was hoping that they would premier the new national anthem and flag for Octobama Land. Looking at Old Glory and singing "land of the free" seems inappropriate these days.

Maybe if you had actually watched the day's events, you'd have a better picture of how moving today was, instead of making petty generalizations based on a glimpse while sweating off a few calories.

That's another way to keep the weight down.

another one is to put up posters of Liberal 'babes' like Moochelle, Nancy Lugosi, Shrillary, Derpie Wasserface Schultz, Ricky Madcow...

Whatever works for.

You were expecting regulars here to like the fawning "Beatles Come To America" redux? Perhaps you should consider how ridiculous it is to idolize any politician this way. Did you hear the so called impartial media gushing through teary eyes? How the hell can that not disgust you no matter who is being inaugurated? And no, silly analogies to Reagan won't cut it. It was never like this.

I remember going to Don Seigelman's inauguration ball. Alabama played there, and I had front row seating.

This guy, I don't give a sh*&^t about his inauguration. The only thing he means to me is that my neighbors are going to suffer more, more Americans will be on foodstamps, my taxes went up, and gold and silver prices will go up.

My biggest individual stock holdings at the end of this year will be AFLAC and Phillip Morris. They have something in common.
