A.C.Jr. with all due respect, if Glover was any dumber someone would have to water him twice a week.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
MY reading:
Part 1: 'Well-Regulated Militia' means A responsible citizen-soldier following certain rules, NOT any idiot having any gun.
Part 2: 'being necessary to the security of a free state'
We are a NEW Country and can't afford a Standing Army, and if British try (and they did) to reclaim their former Colony, we need Citizen- Soldiers to fight, NOT so they can fight the NEW democratically elected Govt.
Part 3: 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.' after Part #1-2 laid out the reasons and limitations for private citizen soldier ownership, as long as they are met, no later US Govt. can completely remove these rights.

You read it to say the government can "infringe" on these rights to "keep and bear arms."
Others read it to mean exactly what it says:
The right of the people to keep and bear them "shall not be infringed."
Left wingers, enemies of personal freedoms that they are, always parse this clear imperative!

Your fevered imagination notwithstanding, here's what the people who wrote the Constitution SAID they meant:
"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials."
------------------------------------
George Mason
"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."
-----------------------------------------------------
Alexander Hamilton
"That the said Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms ... "
-------------------------------------------
Samuel Adams
"No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
-----------------------------
Thomas Jefferson
"The great object is, that every man be armed ... Every one who is able may have a gun."
-------------------------------------
Patrick Henry
Hell, even in modern times, there have been liberals who get it:
"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms ... The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard, against the tyranny which now appears remote in America but which historically has proven to be always possible."

Despite being a foreigner, the meaning of your 2nd Amendment is perfectly clear to me and even to the Frogs opposed to the RKBA.
I mean, you can disagree about the consequences of such an amendment but there's is no double entendre and no possible misunderstanding it:
Every human being is entitled to the ownership of firearms, this is NO privilege that can be taken away from you as you and your Prez appear to think (otherwise there would be no need to have this 2nd Amendment in your Bill of Rights) and the purpose of having it in written form defines a covenant between the People and the State:
You the People must defend the State and you must also be ready to defend the People from a State that would use tyranny as a mean of governing.
So just in case the State would decide for any reason whatsoever, you don't "need" such and such kind of firearm, it is the strongest signal that tyranny is back.
And the 2nd Amendment is here to remind you that you just became a freedom warrior against the current state.
It is so clear and obvious that our freemasonic/socialist state would never have such an amendment in our Constitution because it leaves no room for any convenient interpretation by opponents to the RKBA.

And that, mon ami, is EXACTLY what we're hearing from politicians on the Left

Using the word left, is a cop-out for these people wanting our guns. They are traitors, and guilty of treason against taxpaying citizens of the United States. But, we can't do anything to them, and they know it. We can't remove them by elections, because the boundries are set by their pencils. Term limits would help control this professional field. Stopping all lobbying monies would end most of the bribes in Washington, and states. Do we have any elected officials in Washington who would develope this bill? Them let the states do the term limits and stop the lobbying monies at there level.
