Frank, I
think it depends on the mood. That version of Dean Martin’s “Sway”
might be perfect for relaxing with a martini. But walking through
the halls of Congress on the way to a caucus meeting to rally the
troops… well, that calls for stronger stuff.
Ryan famously admitted being a fan of Rage Against the Machine
(though the band quickly
rejected his affections), and I can totally see him getting
pumped up for a big vote by listening to their 2000 version of
“Renegades of Funk.”
Granted, when the singer goes off about Chief Sitting Bull, and
Malcolm X, and whatnot, Ryan probably mentally substitutes names
like Jack Kemp and Art Laffer.
I'm sorry, but as supporters of Mumia Abu Jamal, Rage Against
the Machine will never find their way into any of my play
lists, though they've made another list or two.
My nephew at Temple was forced to sit through a fantasy
propaganda class on the former Mr. Cooke's lack of guilt that
featured guest lecturer Ramona Africa.
The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause
and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress
impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist
surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our
culture.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it,
makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so
many people seem to be hostile to it?

I guess before he voted on the tax bill he played, "It's Time to Surrender?"

Rage Against the Machine? What a joke.
Any decent 90s fellow with rightwing leanings was Pantera and perhaps later, Korn. Rage was a joke Harvard band for Lefties.

On the subject of acceptable rockers, recall that Neil Young voted for Reagan. And check out the video of his Jesus' Chariot.

Slim pickings looking for right-wing entertainers. There's always RUSH. If not, perhaps ...umm...I dunno the Gatlin Brothers?
Look, let's just concede the entertainment to the lefties and Move Forward.
