Tomorrow morning I will have a new piece up highlighting liberal hypocrisy when it comes to guns. A portion of this article focuses on the interview Meet the Press anchor David Gregory conducted with NRA President Wayne LaPierre in which he decried LaPierre’s proposal that every school in America have an armed guard despite the fact his children attend a school where there is armed security.
However, the article does not discuss the pickle into which Gregory has got himself. Gregory is being investigated for using a magazine clip as a prop during the LaPierre interview despite the fact the DC Metropolitan Police told them not to do so. You could say that Gregory has now been clipped.
Now obviously Gregory wasn’t going to use the clip to harm anyone. It’s a dumb law. Nevertheless, in the zealous pursuit of seeking more gun control, Gregory thinks he can ignore existing gun control laws. From where Gregory sits the ends justify the means. As a member of the liberal media elite, Gregory believes the law doesn’t apply to him.
Of course, it still might not. It would not surprise me in the least if nothing comes of this investigation. But it would be nice to see DC authorities put a scare and send a message to Gregory and other liberal elites: Don’t demand more gun laws if you’re not prepared to following the existing ones.

Lets try and get this right.
There are "magazines" and there are "clips". You cannot use a "magazine" in a clip fed firearm and you cannot use a "clip" in a magazine fed firearm.

Un les you are talking about the M-1 Garanda where you insert a enbloc clip into the magazine which is ejected from the magazine only after all 8 rounds are expended.
But, then, Mr. Garand's invention is the exception that proves the rule.

You are one of the good guys, so here is a gratuitous piece of advice...Quit using "clip," unless you really mean a clip that is used in an M1 Garand or a 40 mm BOFORS anti-aircraft gun. Generally speaking, folks who use "clip" as a substitute for "magazine," are street thugs, commando wannabe's or liberal journalists who wish to sound authoritative, when they actually don't know jack about the manly arts, such as gun fighting. You don't want to be associated with any of those groups.

You can't tell me a 'Selective -Fire' FULL Auto Machine Gun is ANY more deadly than a Semi-Auto. The ONLY thing that matters is how many bullets the thing takes in one CLIP.MOST Full Auto guns have a three roundf burst mode because the Full-Auto setting is so wasteful on ammunition.Second with a collapsible stock, Pistol Grip, and short 16-18 barrel you are really looking at a LARGE semi auto 'Machine-Pistol' rather than that is easily hidden.The Difference between Flash Suppressors who goal is to hide a shooters location which are illegal and the ingenious 'Muzzle Brakes' used to replace them in many cases is name only. These are NOT 'Cosmetic Differences'

Doofus! A clip has either 10 rounds (5.56mm) or 5 rounds (7.62mm NATO or .30 caliber). Clips are used to fill magazines. No rifle has used a clip to feed from since the M1 Garand.
Secondly, Flash suppressors are for the benefit of the guy behind the weapon. You can't hide the muzzle flash from anyone down range.
Muzzle brakes act to decrease muzzle rise against recoil as the barrel is normally above the centerline of the stock.
You are correct, however, that such things are not "cosmetic" but the do little to add to teh "deadliness" of the weapon. In fact 30 round magazine do little to increase the deadliness of the weapon. What is deadly is the user of the user of the weapon. The weapon is merely a tool.
Lastly, if you really sincerely think a semiauto is as deadly a weapon as a semiauto you are utterly ignorant of military history and your opinion is worth as much as spit in the ocean. When you can show me 5000 dead in front of 5 semiauto weapons, as happened with the Brits against the Zulu, then you can talk. Otherwise you are simply showing off your ignorant stupidity.

Incidentally, my understanding is that the majority of the killing of Zulu at Rorke's Drift was done with Martini Henry Rifles. Multiple VCs out of that engagement.

as it is too nebulous. An AR-15 is just as much of a machine as an MG-42. The cyclic rate of the MG-42, however, is around 1200 rpm, while the AR-15's is around 200 if you are really fast pulling the trigger. You won't hit anything with the 15 at that rate, except the ground.

In the case of Sandy Hook, I would submit to you that the 'only thing that matters," was the Federal, State and Local governments' continued, deliberate and unconstitutional disarming of competent adults, to the point that no one was immediately available on scene to stop the carnage.
Before we rush to "do something' about this, perhaps we should take a line from the oath Doctors take..."First, do no harm." The government deliberately disregarded that concept by its wrongful institution of "gun free zones."

He was showing off a piece of a firearm that he was not allowed by law to show off. There. (I avoided the "rifle" and "gun" bit too, you notice, because I don't want to have to run around Harvard Square, dick in one hand, rifle in the other, shouting, "This is my rifle, this is my gun; this is for killing, this is for fun...")
Gregory also sends his kid to a school with security armed with firearms. He is a sanctimonious hypocrite. I do NOT begrudge him his children's safety, I am pissed off at him that mine don't deserve the same. Mine are homeschooled for a reason; within easy driving distance of my place is the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Look up school shootings and Red Lake.
