There’s been a lot of talk about the fiscal cliff, but in all of this we’ve missed the real issue. It’s not about a new recession or even about greenheads. The real issue is Obama, argues Obama. What it’s all about is Republicans’ personal animus against him.
“It is very hard for them to say yes to me,” the president told the Wall Street Journal. “But… at some point they’ve got to take me out of it.”
It really always comes down to him.

It is a surprising comment and shows the depths of his narcissism. It is amazing that a public figure, successful in politics, is able to live in a self-made virtual reality. I am reminded of Professor Epstein's comments some years ago on his personal experiences with Obama at the University of Chicago - Obama is intellectually inflexible; he will not discuss issues with knowledgeable people who don't agree with him. Obama is the polar-opposite of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

What the left means by all politics is personal is that culture is at the base of all politics. Control the culture and you control the politics.
The fraud is simple saying that the Republicans are racist and really have no real objections to his ideas and policy. Get it straight.

True Simon. But, not just that. The left views all social activity in political terms and will support or oppose things in culture, education, economics or science on the basis of whether it can advance their agenda.

You are correct Jim. What I mean by culture is more than what is usually known and understood to be..it is culture with a big C, as more defined by sociologist. This is another reason conservatives are losing because they do not understand the concepts. The Left considers brushing your teeth as a personal or cultural act and political. They know that culture is more than just folk dances, food, and ethnic costumes. That is why it is critical to shape the Culture through instititutions like education, entertainment, and media that enculturate the population.

Obama is clearly the worst of our lifetime for those of us who value individual liberty and prosperity. But can you think of any US President from Washington to today who was even remotely as bad as Obama? Buchanan, Pierce, Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt and Carter were patriots compared to Obama. Sadly, given his re-election, I think it is clear that the American Republic has died.
