Is it common for a re-elected president supposedly riding high
to so quickly see a likely key cabinet nominee withdraw from the
fray? Now that Susan Rice has
withdrawn her name for consideration as America’s next
Secretary of State, a more interesting matter is why she will
continue to serve as America’s — oops, make that President Obama’s
— ambassador to the United Nations.
“As my Ambassador to the United Nations, she plays an
indispensable role in advancing America’s interests,” President
Obama’s statement said in response to Rice’s withdrawal, before
adding: “I am grateful that Susan will continue to serve as our
Ambassador at the United Nations and a key member of my cabinet and
national security team…” Not so fast, one would think. Wouldn’t
what disqualifies her as a successor to Secretary of State Clinton
also disqualify her from representing America in any other
forum?
Meanwhile, we now face the prospect of a Swiftboat Secretary of
State. If you didn’t read Seth Lipsky on John Kerry last week in
the Wall Street Journal, it’s not too late to
read him now. Will we be missing Susan Rice before this is all
over?

The foul stink of anti-American ideology and corruption in this administration starts at the top. Obama is incapable of nominating a decent human being because he is a swine.
Albert Constantine Jr.| 12.13.12 @ 5:00PM
I would accept him nominating someone who was merely not decent (as you note, he is not likely to have any so-described amongst his associates). What I want to know is why does he have to keep finding such bad nominees?
CJW| 12.13.12 @ 8:03PM
He finds bad nominees because that is his network. What do you expect from someone who attended Rev Wright's anti semitic, anti American, racist church, and was friends with terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.
Simon Templar| 12.14.12 @ 10:29AM
Exactly, why is this STILL a question and a surprise for some?
Why the refusal to see this fraud for what he is, even with our friends and fellow conservatives.
Have we cried wolf for too long, used political hyperbole and thrown down the labels all too often that now, know one believes anyone's criticisms and warnings? Have we become as a nation unable to grasp fundamental truths and realities? Has everything turned in propaganda and spin that no one can communicate anything of real substance and truth? This is really surreal.
The guy has written books and read those books aloud in his own voice admitting these associations, leanings, and his world view. His past work, if you can call it that, his past actions, his education, and his political record attest very clearly who he is and what he is about. His family history screams it. Still the refusal. He was groomed for this day and is the ultimate consummation and product of sixties radicalism and the American progressive movement. Still refusal.

I bought Obama's "Audacity of Hope" for one dollar at Half Price book store. In mint condition, first edition. I will take 20 minutes to read this. Read one page, and it is on pompous, arrogant man.
JmsA| 12.13.12 @ 5:04PM
Mr. Pleszcynski, while your question regarding Ms. Rice is spot on, as are those issues raised by Mr. Lipsky, all I have to know is that Mr. Kerry was one of the most avid proponents of American taxpayer-funded aid to the Sandinista regime in Nicaragua, and as such the expansion of socialism/communism in the Americas, including abuses by said regime in its attempts to subjugated the indigenous Miskito Indians.
JmsA| 12.13.12 @ 5:05PM
Correction: Meant to write subjugate.
Maxwell| 12.13.12 @ 5:18PM
Let me ask a question. If I remember correctly, Kerry was to release all of his .MIL records after his failed run for president. Is my memory correct? Were they ever released? While I may be old but I don't remember there ever being a follow up to his promise.
C Bowen | 12.13.12 @ 6:36PM
Kerry was a big supporter of invading Iraq--urging an attack in 1998 because Saddam obviously had scary "WMDs." AmSpec editors came around to supporting the Clinton/Albright/Kerry policy as soon as Bush was elected.
I doubt Republicans or Conservative Inc will put up much of a fight.

Anyone remember when John Tower was not confirmed by the senate for SecDef because Ted Kennedy said that Tower was a womanizer and a drunk?
Pecos Pete| 12.14.12 @ 7:25AM
Is it possible that, if Kerry is actually confirmed as SecState, he would then become a front runner for the democrat party's presidential nomination?
Simon Templar| 12.14.12 @ 10:12AM
No.
Simon Templar| 12.14.12 @ 10:14AM
Shillary is next in line for coronation and is slated for the throne.
Pecos Pete| 12.14.12 @ 10:31AM
Simon, I expect you are correct barring ill health on her part. BTW, have you seen recent pictures of Hillary? Starting to look very old and shopworn.
CJW| 12.14.12 @ 4:57PM
Pecos
We can only hope.
Simon Templar| 12.14.12 @ 10:09AM
Exactly. He is worse. The Fraud really payed this one well. I doubt he ever had any intention of really expecting her to be nominated so he played the Stupid Party like a fiddle and they shot their wad. He got the media narrative once again that the stupid party is racist and hates women, he successfully distracted the Benghazi issue onto her and the stupid party, and he got the guy he wanted in the first place.
Simon Templar| 12.14.12 @ 10:10AM
That is played not payed...
Al Adab| 12.14.12 @ 12:30PM
No republican and no patriotic democrat (if any remain) could possibly vote to confirm the appointment of John Kerry the unindicted traitor. Should he be corruptly confirmed, direct action is called for. "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism" remember?
CJW| 12.14.12 @ 4:59PM
I can still picture that weasel, onTV, with his Army jacket, and long hair, accusing the US military of behaving like "Gengis Khan" in that nasal sissy voice.
