Getting a lot of mileage out of a Heritage conference about which I already have written here, now this is my last installment.

One particularly scary passage:

Heritage has produced a proposed budget/policy design that reaches a balanced budget and that “fully funds defense at 4 percent of GDP” (rather than heading well below 3 percent, as we are in the process of doing). The U.S. has served as the world’s “safety net” - not its policeman, but its ultimate guarantor of geopolitical stability - but “if we take the safety net off the table… that’s not okay…. It would mean that World War III is coming.”

World War III's coming? Wow!! Maybe I'm getting out of the Army just in time, huh? Which is just another reason to worry about the Military!! I've been holding the Army together, single handedly for the last decade now (or at least my little corner of the 82nd Airborne)!! But now I'm down to less than 100 days to go, so good luck with the coming battle!! But three tours is enough for any Soldier, especially one who's getting up there in age, like I am!! But I'm sure Islam won't take advantage of the drastic Military cuts this Administration is forcing upon us now? President Obama knows, Islam's a religion of peace, not War!! Right?

hahahahahaha. That's the most ludicrous scaremongering I've heard in a long, long time. Be afraid! Be very afraid!

(just don't ask for details)

What a load of infantile crap! Not one thing in this post is even remotely close to being true.

We sure made Egypt an example of " geopolitical stability", didn't we.

Worry not!

All those undocumented immigrants from south of the border who will do the work Americans will not do and who we are encouraged to extend our welcome to will rush to stand in line to join our military in the event WW III ensues!

The conservative thing to do is to cut defense. We don't need military installations in over 100 nations across the globe. The United States is meant to be a Republic not an Empire. It also must be understood that there is a direct connection between our current economic woes and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

An absurd post.

Cut the military to the bone. We can't afford it anymore

Cut the defense budget in half after all the troops are home. Lets hope Heritage is getting better leadership with DeMint running things. We don't need no stinking wars ever. Let the world defend itself. If it had to pay for it's own wars maybe there would not be any.

When THE KING and his socialistic henchmen gut the military budget next year of funding to pay for their governmental welfare demands, maybe then the STUPIDS will WAKE UP [of course, it is too late now]!!!!!!!

Dimitry_Aleksandrovich| 12.8.12 @ 5:14PM

How is having American bases in over 100 countries accross the world conservative? It's definitely not fiscally conservative.
