In a Philadelphia suburb last night (does anyone even remember why the city was ever called the city of brotherly love?), Villanova students celebrated a fairly significant basketball win in what is becoming the traditional way, by setting fires.
Don’t ever make the mistake of thinking that college students aren’t capable of becoming even more dreary than they already are. They can always one-up (or one-down) themselves.
There was a more-than-just-dreary new wrinkle in last night’s festivities. Radnor (the suburban town where Villanova U is located) Police charged one fan with assaulting a state police horse, the same charge that was levied against two basketball fans after Saturday’s Villanova win over Oklahoma in the Final Four game.
With apologies to W.C. Fields, on the whole, most horses should prefer not to be in Philadelphia.
