Well.

That didn’t take long.

Our friends at Human Events have this from Howard Dean.

“…the truth is everybody needs to pay more taxes, not just the rich.”

So there you have it. It isn’t just the rich. As conservatives have long predicted, the Democrats are coming for the middle class.

They are coming for “everybody.”

Clarity at last.

Bless you, Governor Dean.

And a Merry Christmas to you too!

The middle class is where the tax money is located. Dean is admitting the obvious, a rarity for Dems.

Was there ever any doubt as to the true intentions of these radical redistributionists?

The only question is, who are they going to fleece once they're done with the middle class?

So Mr. Dean believes everyone should have skin in the game. How...conservative of him.

I seem to recall that Michelle Bachmann stated something very similar during the primaries and was labeled a heartless, extreme radical.

Funny how it's interpreted differently depending on the source.

They are already there. Obamacare taxes all.

Over the last 10 years the middle class has gotten smaller. It will continue to decline. Marx hated these petite bourgeoisie as does Obama. The "bitter clingers" are members of this class. These are the people who pay the major portion of the taxes that keep our municipalities, schools, local governments, small businesses and religious institutions running. These are the people who were against NAFTA, open borders, shipping out jobs to China and allowing Leviathans like Walmart to destroy businesses in small towns. They were against repealing Glass Steagall. Whether Republican or Democrat they have been the bulwark against the downsizing of America!

Thank you Jeffrey! Yes, the STUPIDS who elected THE KING have now signed their financial death warrant [oh those immortal words of Forrest Gump have come back to haunt them]. "Merry Christmas" indeed!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Lord seems to think that we don't remember Milton Friedman's saying that it doesn't matter whether government operations are funded via taxation or via borrowing, because either one affects the economy the same. Until mainstream Republicans offer anything substantial in regard to spending reductions, playing "gotcha" with Democrats' calls for higher taxes while implicitly offering borrowing as an alternative can only be seen as an insult to our intelligence. (Mr. Ryan's budget, with its assumptions of 1) sustained growth greater than we have ever had for any decade and 2) ongoing enjoyment of interest rates near 0%, which is impossible, is not a serious proposal, despite Romney-Rockefeller Republicans' p.r. efforts and Speaker Beohner's punishment of representatives who voted against it.)

The DoNothing Class of society has now fooled over half the country into socialism. I'll be damned the day I have to pay federal taxes to bail out a city like Detroit so some idiot union teacher can retire at 50 while I work til I'm 70.

Occam's Tool| 12.11.12 @ 10:33PM

I agree. Seeing my nurses, who voted for Obama, getting their taxes raised will give me Holiday cheer.

Howard Dean and Bernie Sanders at least let you know where they're coming from. Barack Obama really makes my stomach flip with his syrupy concern for "the middle class" - which he has managed to turn into the "client class" - those guys who have increased the number of people on Food Stamps by 50 percent since Obama took over, and pay no Federal income tax, but still can vote themselves more and costlier Federal benefits. Those of us who still pay Federal income tax - many of us with incomes below $20,000 because our kids have grown up - are the disenfranchised - Obama lionizes the 47 percent who are deadbeats, fiscally, while giving up on those of us who are stuck with the tab for the cafeteria lunch of Federal benefits for his supporters.
