Well, that didn't last long...an hour into trading and the market is now down.

By the way, the report this morning was employment, not consumer confidence, though I suppose one might suggest they are related.

Unemployment rate up though job growth somewhat better than expected.

If we lose, this is why.
Apparently some of us our lacking in simple common sense not to write misleading headlines on conservative web sites and repeat Liberal MSM narratives.

I am absolutely convinced that the only people that can save this country and conservatism are ex-liberals who have converted to conservatism. There seems to be something in the DNA of traditional conservatives, a strand of self destruction, stupidity, and cynicism, that seems irremovable. Maybe it is a self imposed blindness, that comes from the inability to know thy enemy. Perhaps it is a lack of faith and fighting energy that is more often seen in underdogs and those that have iconoclastic personalities.
We spend to much time fighting each other and looking out for our own interest.
Chris Christie will be the face of conservatism of the future. Expect to see more of this self serving accommodation, back sliding, contradiction, collusion, and liberalization on social issues and national security.

By the way, have you ever noticed that the greatest thinkers of conservatism and the greatest political analyst of the twentieth century were once Democrats and liberals? Breitbart and Reagan being among them.

The above remarks are directed at the fool that submitted this article, by the way...

I only know of two agencies who conduct a consumer confidence survey, the Conference Board and the University of Michigan. Those are pretty large surveys that take some time for data collection. Data was probably collected before the storm seemed to dampen the apparent Romney surge, which may have been the real cause of the increase in confidence.
