Paul Ryan’s congressional campaign has released Ryan’s last ad before the election, entitled “The Idea of America.” Although it’s nominally for/from his race for Congress, the message is clearly meant to appeal — and should in fact appeal — to a wide range of voters in the presidential race, looking to swing Ryan’s home state of Wisconsin into the Republican column for Ryan/Romney next Tuesday. (Note how the ad mentions America three times but doesn’t mention Wisconsin specifically.)  It’s a tough challenge, but far from impossible, and I certainly hope they succeed in that effort. (At Intrade.com, betting odds on Republicans winning Wisconsin are sitting around 26 percent.)
