The Spectacle Blog
I had made some notes over the last week about ways in which the president could have successfully hit home his message. Here’s what I came up with:
1.) He should have sung more Al Green.
2.) Performed a sweet jumpshot, preferably over Romney.
3.) Had Biden warm up the audience with topical jokes.
4.) Used the opportunities to demonstrate the cutting edge features of the Chevy Volt.
5.) Placed bin Laden’s skull on the table next to his chair and proceed without even discussing it.

I was going to suggest self-immolation to protest against the incumbent regime, but it turns out, he's the incumbent (and, like Daffy Duck said, it's a great stunt, but you can only do it once).

His most memorable condescending line was "we have these things called aircraft carriers and planes land on them and we have submarines which go under water." I am sure this was informative to his supporters, who must have loved it.
However, I think Obama should have taken it to the next level. He could have mooned Romney, which is what he has been doing figuratively to the American public for 4 years. I guess he needs to leave something for the 2016 Democratic nominee.

It would have been the logical conclusion of his performance, where I thought most of his lines were written by the military and foreign policy experts who make up the writing staffs for Bill Maher and Jon Stewart.
Of course, if the bathhouse rumors have any truth to them, had he dropped his trousers in such a fashion, he might have been continuing to electioneer in a way that he was quite comfortable with from his past activities.

Do you remember all of the crazy stories about Howard Hughes and when he died it turned out that the reality was that bad or worse? I think that when a truthful Obama biography comes out some day, it will be similar.

7. He should have started crying...it worked for Hillary Clinton.
8. He should have said to Romney, "Damn, you know more than me." Followed by a plea to the camera, "He may know more than me and lead more than me, and be richer than me, BUT what America needs is more compassion and I will dole it out to you regardless. Just like I have done my whole life!"
