President Obama can take some measure of comfort that he is still
beloved outside the
United States. (H/T
Charles C.W. Cooke at NRO).
Obama is especially beloved in France where 72% favor his
re-election. So I guess the two Americans the French most admire
are Obama and Jerry Lewis. It does seem fitting that the French
would admire a couple of clowns.
But even in France, Obama’s standing his diminished. Back in
June, a Pew Center Research survey concluded that
92% of the French wanted him re-elected.
Yet I wonder how many strolling along the Champs-Elysées are
aware that Romney’s French is
better than Obama’s.
Well, I guess the French will find out in a couple of weeks.

Romney's French may be better than Obama's, but Obama's Austrian is better than Romney's, so it's a wash.

In defense of all the clowns in the world, I take umbrage.

I love the one with Clinton copping a feel from Lady Liberty.

I thought Obama spoke French. What was that French word he used, oh, yea, "wee-wee'd up." I hope that happens to them on November 7th.

On behalf of Jerry Lewis, I'd like to register an objection. Even if you've never liked his movies, I think you have to respect all of the money he has raised for Muscular Dystrophy from voluntary giving through his telethons and other efforts. This is community organizing at its finest. It is Obama and his ilk who have given it a bad name.

How do they think that 75% tax rate is going to work out?
lol

Let him move there after the election. Obama is a loathsome scumbag.

And ze French also love stinky cigarettes. And surrendering.
Frog in Uniform | 10.23.12 @ 9:54PM
Naah! We rarely surrender, but we are often betrayed by our politicians. This would never happen to you guys, you can't understand ;+)
Most Frogs would never elect a black man to any relevant office. Unless they'd be allowed to vote in US! They usually don't speak English at all and they're wondering what could be wrong with a president who seems less corrupt and less liberal than any of the ones we got for the last 30 years.
God bless America.
FastJohnny| 10.24.12 @ 8:05AM
You bring up an interesting point. In a Europe that points to a US as being racist and bigoted, I am not seeing much in the way of black politicians or any other than white.
spike59| 10.24.12 @ 5:36AM
Well, the French can have him; I'd be willing to help pay the cost to ship a large crate containing Babbling Barry and the Wookie to France.
It is well to remember that these are the people who:
-consider it their national duty to surrender to any group larger than a Girl Scout troop
-think Jerry Lewis is funny
-eat snails ON PURPOSE

You must be kidding, we lost 238,000 soldiers during WWII
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.....e_mondiale and about 80,000 were lost during the final weeks of the 39-40
and we lost as many soldiers in VietNam (former Indochina) as you did, about 58,000.
http://laguerreenindochine.for.....-indochine
The war in Algeria cost us about 28,000 soldiers, most of them very young men who had just been drafted.
As I said above, we have a tendency to be betrayed and sacrificed by our rulers and I am confident this would never happen in America but...who knows?
Most Frogs liked Jerry because he was nice, could be funny and children could safely watch him on TV.
I think Jim Carrey owes him a lot.
I don't know of any Frog who actually eats frog legs, snails or junk like that, except during our survival in jungle workshop, but cats, snakes and squirrels actually taste better, trust me on this one.
If one day you ever visit France, just show up at the nearest Gendarmerie brigade, there's one in every town, have a cup of coffee with the guys and the ladies (contrary to popular belief, we love Americans) and ask them about their work, their commitment and dedication to it and what their life is like in France.
You'll be surprised to realize we're very similar, you're just lucky to have better leaders and a great Bill of Rights.
Skippy| 10.24.12 @ 11:47AM
France and the French are much like Americans in that our leaders are shameful yet our people are noble.
I knew a Frenchman; a member of the resistance, who spent 3 years as a POW of the Nazi invaders, and his comrades never let on that he was a Jew.
The French are much better than France.

Well, I guess Obama will always have Paris...
(Casablanca)
"I remember every detail. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue." Obama wore pink.
