For the next debates, let the contenders be dressed as gladiators, give them real swords and axes and let them draw some real blood. Spectators will decide if the fallen one lives or dies. Of course, if CNN's in charge of the event, the Obama will play the Emperor with some real man, like Rachel Maddow, playing Tigris of Gaul and Monica Crowley as a chained tiger... I'd pay good money to watch that. And it would also cut the number of willing participants some.

Like your analogy. I think it would go more like the movie Gladiator whereby our corrupt emperor stabs his opponent in the side before the contest to secure advantage. Last night, the stab was from the corrupt moderator.

That scene works too. I was referring to a scene with the chained tiger. On the other hand, Monica is more like a hippo...
