The Spectacle Blog

A new SuperPac called Women Speak Out, affiliated with the Susan B. Anthony List (both organizations are deserving of support), released yesterday the single most powerful pro-life ad I’ve ever seen. Watch it here. The ad is slated to run in the Hampton Roads, VA area, to start with. In my humble opinion, it needs to run in selected places nationwide (and surely will do so if the funds are forthcoming).

The background: In Illinois, Barack Obama voted four times against a bill that would have provided protections to babies born alive after surviving attempted abortions. Here was his quote explaining what he was opposing: ” If that fetus, or child - however way you want to describe it - is now outside the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that its nonviable but there’s, lets say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming up limp and dead, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved. Is that correct?”

Well, uh, yes. It seems perfectly reasonable to ask for a second physician, in addition to the (failed) abortionist, take a look to see if the child is still alive, rather than just relying on the “doctor” who, after all, just tried to kill it.

Anyway, there are a whole lot of such survivors of attempted abortions, many of whom are visible on various You Tube videos here. The new ad has a clip from one such survivor, the beautiful Melissa Ohden, who also can be seen here, in a CBN interview.

Pro-lifers all over the country are (and should be) working to make the new ad go viral. I think it is breathtaking.

“Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born.”-Ronald Reagan

"We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, killings, of wars, or of hatred...If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other?" - Mother Teresa

"What an irony that a society confronted with plastic bags filled with the remains of aborted babies should be more concerned about the problem of recycling the plastic"... - Winifred Egan

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, worshipped worldwide by millions of Vaishnavaite Hindus (myself included) as a saktyavesa-avatar (or empowered representative of God), briefly mentioned the killing of unborn children in 1974, when discussing the institutionalized killing of billions of animals in the slaughterhouses:

"Who are these children being killed? They are these meat-eaters. They enjoyed themselves when so many animals were killed, and now they're being killed by their mothers.

"People do not know how nature is working. If you kill, you must be killed. If you kill the cow who is your mother, then in some future lifetime your mother will kill you. Yes. The mother becomes the child, and the child becomes the mother."

In a 1979 essay entitled "Abortion and the nguage of Unconsciousness," contemporary Hindu spiritual master Ravindra-svarupa dasa (Dr. William Deadwyler) explains:

"A (spiritually) conscious person will not kill even animals (much less very young humans) for his pleasure or convenience. Certainly the unconsciousness and brutality that allows us to erect factories of death for animals lay the groundwork for our treating humans in the same way."

No lay practitioner of bhakti-yoga nor ordained (initiated) can take a stand against the killing of the unborn without simultaneously taking a stand against the killing of animals for food, clothing, sport, etc.

Huh? This explains why so many Indian children are starving to death. We place a higher value on human life than on bovine life, because we do not believe that the cows we eat are our mothers. We think they are cows.

Let's not be extremist here ourselves. There is a big difference between criminalizing the murder of live babies and the criminalization of early-term abortion. Do you really want to put OB/GYNs and teenaged girls in prison? Haven't we already tried
that? Murder is murder, butabortion is a personal decision within a woman's sphere of personhood.

If Oblameo has no problems with the killing of living babies, what wouldn't he have a problem with? Time for him and his dem/Marxist pals to go.

Occam's Tool| 10.11.12 @ 8:43PM

Yup. As an MD, I say let them rot in prison. We need those babies: they turn into tax paying adults who pay for the wiping of the asses of the Geriatric Baby Boomers, the worst American generation.

YOU'RE a doctor?? Right... and I'M the Queen of England!

I don't believe for one MINUTE that YOU'RE an M.D. .... not unless your last name KEVORKIAN.
