Glenn Beck tells yet another story about what sort of person Mitt Romney is. If Barack Obama had ever done anything similar, you know the media would be shouting it from every rooftop. (The silence on that score is deafening.)

This is well worth listening to and sharing with anyone you know who is undecided, particularly independent women:

Romney's character? Shazam, that must mean that he has never associated with domestic terrorists, corrupt businessmen, street thugs/hos/pimps, has never sat silently in front of a raving maniac preacher shouting "G-D damn America", political anarchists whose ancestors were affiliated with communists, etc? that may not be so much character but instead intelligence [which the American people lack in spades since they allow themselves to be brainwashed by such individuals]!!!!!!!!!!

I would be surprised if he would be any other way. I know some on this site have certain religious objections to Mormans, but, in my limited experience, every single one I have encountered has been uniformly polite and decent. I even allowed two of the kids they send around in and listened to their whole bit. They were well prepared and earnest as they could be.

I suppose others may have had a different experience, but they have all batted a thousand with me as human beings.

OF and Butch,
You are both precisely on target.

OF?

RGK?

What are you, 15?

Contest on Roger Kaplan's Column.

Ross Kaminsky| 9.21.12 @ 5:12PM

First of all, "TLP", others have responded to "OF". It was not of my invention.

Second of all, in my years on the trading floor, my "badge" was RGK, so I think of my initials as my name/signature more than the average person does.

No idea what you're talking about as far as a contest and don't have time to figure it out.

Have a weekend.

"15"? Are you talking/referring to me? [if so I hope that it was some sort of a joke]!!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 9.21.12 @ 11:14PM

Okay I think I get it now, but you'll have to ID Roger Kaplan's column/editorial that you're referring to [name/date] since I don't read him. Hopefully that is the "15" you were referring to, huh??????

Religious concerns about Mormons (and Mormonism) stem from theologial problems not concern about personal character which in the vast majority of cases is beyond reproach.

Mr. K: The ability of the President to interdict the internet under emergency conditions through Dept of Homeland Security takes effect Monday. Any suggestions as to where we might communicate then? Certainly the riots where Americans have burned the Egyptian embassy, hung the Libyan Ambassador and raided the Libyan embassy could be construed as an emergency. ...or was that the other way around?

Ross Kaminsky| 9.21.12 @ 5:14PM

Al,

I guess what I'd say to this is that if a president ever actually tried to control/turn off Americans' access to the Internet, he would have no chance at re-election, and would likely bring down his entire political party in the next election.

It's just not something I can really worry about.

Indeed. Liberals operate via the slippery slope and by always ensuring that the consequences of their policies can be blamed on conservatives. They are are very careful not to do anything so direct as to incur the wrath of the common idiot.

What's scary, then, is that they felt the public was "ready" for ObamaCare. And they're right...

But give it time. What seems unfathomable today will happen someday, just as today's reality seemed unfathomable to generation's past.

JD| 9.23.12 @ 11:31PM

Attempts to separate "being a good person" from the beliefs of the person are attempts to avoid inconvenient realities. Such attempts fuel liberalism.

The beliefs of a Mormon will not make one threatening if elected president in the present climate, but I will not add any compliment to that.

Obama would have picketed the milk company and called a press conference to berate the milk company for making a profit in selling the milk .

Romney paid for the milk.

That is the difference.

Mike W| 9.21.12 @ 9:02PM

I will vote for Romney but glen beck's endorsement doesn't really help. Listening to him lately will tell that he is crazier than an outhouse rat these days. Something about the "Project".

Rich D| 9.22.12 @ 11:59PM

It's a great vignette - watch it.
