Ben Stein is absolutely right to point out the hyperpolitical
reaction of the Obama campaign to Mitt Romney’s statement on the
events in Libya and Egypt. As Ben put it, Romney is not the
enemy.
While I’m not breaking news here, the fact that the media
(whether because it’s just how they think or whether as an
intentional effort to help Obama) also view Romney as the enemy was
brought home (again) during Romney’s press conference yesterday.
Romney made a short statement and then took questions for
several minutes. Almost every question was along the lines of “did
you comment too soon?” with nothing about the fact that American
lives and property were being destroyed. The questions were,
particularly given the information at the time, even more
reprehensible than the Cairo embassy’s early apology for free
speech.
It’s not breaking news to note that the media often functions as
a propaganda arm of the Obama campaign. But it can still be eye
opening to see such a barefaced example as yesterday’s press
conference.
As AmSpec reader Nick points out, an
open microphone (link well worth checking out) caught the
reporters at the press conference basically conspiring to go with
only this line of questioning.
Here’s the Romney press conference:
For those of you who don’t have time to watch the video, allow
me to post the text of some of the reporters’ questions from the
transcript:
“The statement you referred to was a toughly worded statement
last night. do you regret the tone at all given what we know?”
“Governor Romney, do you think, though, coming so soon after
the events really had unfolded overnight was appropriate, to be
weighing on this as this crisis is unfolding in realtime?”
“You talk about mixed signals. The world was watching, isn’t
this assault a mixed signal when you criticize the president? When
americans are being killed shouldn’t politics stop?”
“Governor, some people have said that you jumped the gun a
little in putting that statement out last night and you should have
waited until more details were available. Do you regret having that
statement come out so early before we learned about all the things
that were happening?”
There was not a single question about the events themselves.
Every question was either a criticism of Romney or asking him what
he would have done differently from Obama. Shameless, barefaced
propaganda by the American press corps. Disgusting.
Obama reacted too quickly to a number of things - the supposedly
racist policemen and that Ivy League black prof, "Trayvon could be
my son", etc.
Then of course there's the "we have to pass the bill to see
what's in it" side of the Democrats, and that stimulus they had to
pass by Feb 16 2009 without reading it because it was so
urgent.
Who is he to levy accusations of "ready, fire, aim?"
We need to stop referring to "media bias." Bias implies a
subconscious distortion of the facts. "Media propaganda" is more
accurate. These people know what they are doing and neither truth
or objectivity is not part of the plan.
Here. Here. Bias is out. Propaganda is in. As the man says once
it is intentional it is no longer bias. We all know it is
intentional; premeditated intentional.
If you haven't already, check out Liz Cheney's
excellent op-ed in the Wall Street
Journal:
"Apologizing for America, appeasing our enemies, abandoning
our allies and slashing our military are the hallmarks of Mr.
Obama's foreign policy. The Obama economy, with its high
unemployment, massive debt and out-of-control spending, has rightly
demanded our attention. As we head to the polls in November, we
cannot ignore what is an even more dismal national-security record.
An America already weakened by four years of an Obama presidency
will be unrecognizable after eight."
Every time a reporter asks Romney, "Do you regret your statement
(about the embassy attacks)" Romney needs to say, "I regret that 4
Americans are dead. I regret that this administration is still
considering forgiving $1 billion in Egyptian debt. I regret that
the US ambassador in Egypt, who by the way wasn't in the country at
the time, didn't allow the Marine guards to carry live ammunition.
I regret that the consulate in Benghazi didn't have anything close
to the security it should have had. I regret that Obama went to bed
without knowing where his ambassador to Libya was........"
Throw it back in their faces and watch them hyperventilate.
"You talk about mixed signals. The world was watching, isn’t
this assault a mixed signal when you criticize the president? When
americans are being killed shouldn’t politics stop?"
Not only are they actively propogandizing for the Obama regime
they are completely arrogant, clueless, and stupid. There is no way
they forgot the past 10 years they still blast Iraq and
Afghanastan. It is just like watching Obama working. Just when you
think they can't get any worse they manage.
The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause
and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress
impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist
surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our
culture.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it,
makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so
many people seem to be hostile to it?

Are you unaware of the conspiring, collusion, and journalistic malpractice that occurred before that press conference began, Mr. Kaminsky?
