Since President Obama has a “scheduling conflict” where it
concerns meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but
has no such conflict when it comes taking time
to refine his standup routine with David Letterman, I thought
it would be only fitting that I should come out with a Top Ten
List.
So without further adieu, here are the Top Ten Reasons
President Obama is Avoiding Benjamin Netanyahu. Drum roll
please:
10. Hillary Clinton isn’t available to accompany him.
9. Joe Biden isn’t available either.
8. He thinks the Jews in Florida will vote for him
anyway.
7. He’s too busy thinking up other events to which Bibi
won’t be invited.
6. He needs to work on his golf game.
5. He didn’t want to hurt the religious feelings of
Muslims.
4. He has a dinner date with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
3. He needs to return to the White House to plan the
latest battle of the War on Women.
2. He’s busy planning his open mic session with the new
French President.
1. He isn’t intelligent enough to be in the same room with
Benjamin Netanyahu.

I agree - #1.
It goes back to what Professor Richard Epstein said of Obama as a lecturer at the University of Chicago. Obama is ideologically inflexible and is unwilling to discuss issues with knowledgeable people who disagree with him. His idea of debate is to speak of strawman positions of his opponents.
Netanyahu on the other hand is a rare force of intelligence, courage, and determination. He believes his nation's survival is on the line and is much better informed on this issue than Obama. He has already schooled Obama once at a joint press conference and gave an impressive speech before Congress. No way does Obama want to be in the same room with him; he wouldn't stand a chance.

Nutanyahu is hated by virtually every leader in the world. Sarkosy said he hated him because he is such a liar. Obama clearly hates him and that is one great point in his favor. But will he continue to stand up to this old criminal, terrorist, and racist. I doubt it. Every time they meet Obama has to stop lower to kiss Nuttyyahoo's smelly rear end. Do you blame him for trying to avoid that? Besides it's great politics. I just went to lunch with a Jewish pal. Now that we are both retired we go most weeks. Every Jew he knows is voting for Obama. This guy is a zionist as are most of his friends. They just don't buy what Bibby is selling, just like most people in Israel. Obama will get the vast number of Jewish, Muslim and Arab Christian votes. Romney has put himself in a deep hole and just keeps on digging. Wars are as popular as cancer among the groups Romney needs to win this election. Obama was having trouble getting his vote out. His stand against Nutty will only help him with his base, in a big way.

Jack in Wi is hated by virtually every poster on TAS. Most hate him because he is such a liar. Even a few libs hate him and that's a clear point in their favor. But will they continue to stand up to this crazy, draft dodging, Ron Paul loving kook? Maybe but it's getting harder. Many would just as soon kick Jack's sorry ass back into the obscurity of cyberspace but that's impossible unless the mods here at TAS decide to ban him. Bans being infrequent here at this site. Jack has lunch with his old pal Clint quite frequently and they discuss the good old days and how their hero, Ron Paul, would be ahead by double digits in the polls had he gotten the GOP nomination. Then President Paul could appoint Jack as ambassador to Israel and give Clint the white sheet concession at the Israeli embassy.

Crassus: thank you so much just for being you. Jack and 786 affect me like Clouseau affected his boss, and for much the same reason. Incompetent, illiterate morons, virulently antisemitic.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Name calling and lies is all you boys have and know what to do. I never lie here. I don't have to or want to. The truth will set you free and that is all I use. There are plenty of real people here who agree with me. The rest of you are mostly paid posters from the Romney and Obama camps and the usual shills from the Israeli propaganda ministry and the Zionist hate groups.

From today's Jerusalem Post:
Opposition leader Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) blamed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for what he called the deteriorating relationship between the US and Israel, in a special meeting during the Knesset’s summer recess on Wednesday.
“Mr. Prime Minister, tell me, who is our biggest enemy, the US or Iran? Who do you want replaced, [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad or [US President Barack] Obama?” Mofaz asked in the plenum. “How low are you prepared to drag relations with our closest ally?”
Mike in N.C.| 9.12.12 @ 5:48PM
Thanks for the post, RCV. But, most people here are not interested. It doesn't coincide with their ideology.
Occam's Tool| 9.12.12 @ 7:19PM
RCV: it is Obama's fault, not Bibi. Sorry, gotta disagree with you. Of course Kadima is going to slap around Netanyahu. But, if I recall, kadima was the party of the worst PM in Israeli history, Ehud Ohlmert.
RCV| 9.12.12 @ 8:39PM
Bibi is doing incalculable damage to Israel and its relationship with the US. My friends in Tel Aviv - avid conservative computer geniuses who support Likud - are literally sick at the way he is publicly picking fights with the US government at a time when he should be standing with us, as we will if push comes to shove with Iran. But if Bibi keeps up this tack, it will not be good for Israel, I fear.
GGM| 9.13.12 @ 3:46AM
You have no friends in Tel Aviv you lying Nazi scumb-g. Israel doesn't need the US . They don't need to allied to a country led by a Muslim worm. They just signed an agreements with Russia and China. The US will be a third world nation in 30 years.
RCV| 9.13.12 @ 4:19PM
I have a number of friends in Tel Aviv. And don't you EVER call me a Nazi. I have been a life-long defender of Israel and one with no tolerance for anti-semitism. Jerk.

Mike in N.C.| 9.12.12 @ 8:40PM
My response is directed to Occam.
RCV| 9.12.12 @ 10:02PM
Occam- Olmert was indeed a puts, not only incompetent but corrupt. He was an old protege of Ariel Sharon's. Kadima arose in the wake of Sharon's incapacitation, a coalition of a lot of factions. It was wise enough to dump Olmert as soon as it could. But all that is beside the point.
RCV| 9.12.12 @ 10:03PM
"putz" - thanks for nothing, spellcheck.
Pelleas| 9.13.12 @ 9:00AM
OC:
Actually... as bad as Ohlmert was,Netanyahu is by FAR the worst PM I have seen in Israel..and public sentiment against him, in Israel in quite strong-and growing daily.
As concerned as Israelis are ( and should be) about the security of our Country.. the general consenses is the Bibi is the worst war-monger we have EVER had ( and that is saying a lot, considering some of our former PM's..)--let alone the fact that the Israeli economy has been in worse shape then it has been since the formation of the Nation.

Woodward's first book on Obama (Obama at War)
describes how Obama spent less than one hour reviewing Iraq/Afghanistan/Middle East on a flight to California for the Jay Leno show, but spent several hours on preparing for Leno and the fundraising parties.
Obama has plenty of time for fundraisers, Letterman, Leno, beer summits to criticize the police, over 100 golf matches, handicapping the March basketball games, and other important activities.

#12. It's Obama's turn to pick up the tab for lunch.
Paul McGrath| 9.12.12 @ 6:22PM
13. He believes that if Israel were to give up the West Bank and Jerusalem, there woulld be peace in the Middle East, and he knows Netanyahu will never agree to that.
14. He is uncomfortable around Netanyahu. In fact, he is afraid of him. Netanyahu is a man of the world who has accomplished many great things and who has taken great risks. Obama's greatest achievement was to attempt to organize the rabble in order to shake down legitimate business.
Paul McGrath| 9.12.12 @ 6:24PM
15. He knows that if he and Netanyahu were somehow to meet somewhere away from the press and the world, Netanyahu would grab him by the shirt front and beat the shit out of him for his bad manners.
Occam's Tool| 9.12.12 @ 7:20PM
Paul: I don't think Bibi would do that. Bibi was an elite military killer and commando. He knows Obama is a punk.
Paul McGrath| 9.12.12 @ 9:07PM
Hello Dr. Occam,
Thank you for your response. Now that I have it, I wanted to mention that you--and Grzmlyk, something like that--are my favorite posters on this Spectacle. You are a conservative, like me, but unlike me, you have specific knowledge and experience with the system that is about a zillion years beyond my comprehension.
In college, you were the guy holed up in his room studying chemistry; I was the guy in the library giggling to himself while writing yet another idiotic short story for my English class.
In short, I make a point to read every comment you make here, and am far more knowledgable as a result. Keep up the great work.
Maxwell| 9.12.12 @ 10:03PM
Thank you for my evening laugh & smile Occam.
Paul McGrath| 9.12.12 @ 6:53PM
I just looked at my last comment and am a little disappointed in myself for making such a rude comment. He is the President, and he was elected by a majority of my fellow Americans. But I must say that I am beyond fed up with this President.
The administration had to have known for at least a couple of weeks that Prime Minister Netanyahu was going to be in New York. They obviously know that Israel is our only true ally in the volatile Middle East. And they also know that Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. Obama, quite frankly, should be on the phone with Netanyahu just about every day. And he refuses to meet him in person? Here, in the U. S.?
You don't have to like him, President Obama, but godalmighty, you have to talk to him!
He is a hopeless, helpless, small-minded fool.
GGM| 9.13.12 @ 3:36AM
Number one is the real reason. He is cowardly low IQ piece of sh-t. Netanyahu had real qualifications to be admitted to MIT while Obama's only qualification was the amount of Melanin in his skin. Netanyahu was a member of the IDF special forces. Obama wouldn't last thru basic training in the US Army which hasn't won a war since 1898.
