Last night Missouri’s now-controversial Senate candidate Todd Akin went on the Mike Huckabee show. He said he wasn’t a “quitter” — which is to say Akin insisted he would stay in the race.

Now take a look at this clip over on YouTube:

That would be none other than Governor Huckabee endorsing Todd Akin in his tight Senate primary.

Until yesterday everyone was rallying to Akin as the flag bearer in the fight to unseat Claire McCaskill.

Now… everyone from literally Mitt Romney on down in the conservative world is pleading with Akin to self-immolate somewhere else, let the Missouri GOP replace him pronto — and get on with the task of defeating McCaskill.

The question now is: where is Mike Huckabee? He gave his endorsement to Akin… and now we have a problem and a big one.

One would hope that the Governor would quickly step up to the plate and ask Akin to withdraw before 5 p.m.

We will see.

Akin made the front page of the WSJ this morning. His gaffe (or stupidity if you will) likely just cost the GOP that Senate seat and MOs electoral vote. He should quit.

The GOP should always acknowledgte and embrace the double standard. Our candidates must be above reproach. Then, we can attack when people of Bidens' ilk make such pandering obnoxious statements as he did.

IF you take away a rape victims ability to terminate a pregnancy, you empower the rapist, simple as that. Some men WILL rape if abortion is completely illegal, just to get pregnant beautiful women they could never normally get, and get a sick satisfaction in have said women have to raise these children. Models, Politicians, and Actresses would ALL be targeted. A Mark Chapman of the future wouldn't have to murder a singer to impress an actress, just rape her directly.

Wow, that's about as stupid a comment as Akin gave us. Are you two sharing notes?

A chatlatan/huckster like Huckabee will never ask his boy to drop out. CINOs stick together even if it means losing a winnable race.

Tick Tock. He has until 5 PM to save the senate, and perhaps Missouri.

Could this unfortunate episode be a Black Swan Event for the republican party, setting off a chain of events that will have enormous negative repercussions for not only their chances of taking back the senate, but in their quest for 270?

Mr. Akin, please put country first and step down. Now!!!

Tick tock.

What's the problem?

What am I missing?

If Jack The Ripper was running against Claire McCaskill, I would vote for Jack The Ripper.

What's done, is done.

It is, what it is.

Akin is the Candidate. Now what?

The objective is to Defeat The Muslim.

"But, he said something stupid."

As opposed to 57 States, with 3 more to go, Obama?

As opposed to the clearly Alzheimer's Affected Nancy Pelosi?

As opposed to Chains Biden?

As opposed to No Budget Harry Ried?

WTF is the problem, here?

If you Women, out there, want this American Hating POS to get 4 more years? Then vote for Claire McCaskill. Hundreds of Thousands of Women, have lost their jobs under President Partial Birth Abortion. And, how many women have lost their Homes, their Security, and their standard of living, under President Abortion On Demand?

What's more important to you, ladies?

A guy who made a stupid remark?

Or, a guy who seeks to turn this Country in to a Third World Banana Republic, but you can whore around the town as much as you like?

Wake Up, people.

We NEED this guy.

He will have no power over your Vagina.

Trust me.
