Within 15 minutes of each other, the U.S. women’s water polo team and U.S. women’s soccer team both won gold medals. About an hour earlier, the women’s b-ball team advanced to the gold-medal game with a win over tough Australia. Of course the American women won the team gymnastics gold, and American pairs won both gold and silver in beach volleyball. In team sports, American women rock!!! And that’s not even to mention all the individual medals these women are winning. Awesome stuff. Gotta love All-American Girls! (Note to radical, humorless feminists: “Girls” is okay in that context. If you don’t understand why, it’s not even worth explaining it to you.)

Not mention Misty May and Kerry, who have now won gold medals in three Olympics in a row. Their semi-final match against the Chinese--which they won 22-20, 22-20--was the stuff of legend, and one of the most exciting sporting contests I have ever seen!
