If memory serves, the Mainstream Media pulled this stunt in '88 onVice President/Republican nominee George HW Bush.
But it's all relative to who's one opponent is, however, because he ran against Michael Dukakis, the epitome of wimpdom.
We might be seeing a repeat with Romney vs obama. The difference is that obama has a three and a half year record of proving beyond doubt his wimpdomness (incessant bowing to leaders, "leading from behind", the inability to make swift decisions, and the dangerous cowtowing to Putin) as opposed to Romney's lack of record in this regard.
Romney may or may not be a wimp. We know for sure the current president is one.
Bye the way, anyone who survived a plane crash en route back to an air craft carrier (HW Bush) is certainly NOT a wimp.
Of course this does not compare to the heroic story of Young Obama involved in crashing the ChoomWagon, after which abandoning his "friend" who's left dealing with the police by himself :-)

Take a look at his photo of macho Obama, maybe Newsweek can't find this NY Times photo.

I did and I want to toss lunch I just ate.
“He’ll be a great president because of his intelligence and even more because of his good heart…’’
Great intelligence, and his grades in college were?

Yeah Larry, and "both of them" will soon be deprived of their rag proclaiming """STUPIDLY"""" when Newsweek goes finally out of business/existence [their former editor is now working on Morning Joe/MSNBC as a commentator]!!!!!!!!
Skippy| 7.31.12 @ 3:26PM
For some reason Newsweek has had their rag delivered to my house for several months.
I have no idea who I offended to be subject to such ongoing torment...and recycling.
With the announced end of their dead-tree version, I am hoping for relief.

Might want to hang it from the rack inside your bathroom next to the toilet!!!!!

let's see...romney was the commander of the Death Star, then he was a vampire, and now is a wimp? boy, the MSM is going to feel mighty foolish when they wake up on the morning of 11/7/12 to discover that romney is actually...the president-elect!
