Naturally, the liberal media in this country
delights in the row between Mitt Romney and the Cameron/Clegg
government and the British press over his comments about London’s
preparation for the Olympics.
Yet President Obama has had more than his share of trouble
with the Brits during his Presidency. Here’s a list from Nile
Gardiner titled,
“Barack Obama’s top ten insults against Britain”. If
Romney is elected President, I doubt you could ever compile such
a list.
The roots of Obama’s Anglophobia purportedly stem from the
treatment his grandfather received in Kenya at the hands of the
British during the Mau Mau rebellion in the early 1950s. Although
new information has called that story into doubt. Well,
whatever the case, Obama doesn’t much care for the Union Jack.
Aside from
returning the bust of Churchill, there was the time
Obama snubbed then UK PM Gordon Brown at the UN. Prior to that,
Obama gave Brown 25 DVDs after Brown had given him an
ornamental pen holder made from material from the HMS
Gannet, an anti-slavery ship. Of course, the DVDs were Region
1
so Brown couldn’t even watch the damn movies. It’s probably
just as well because even if he could have watched the DVDs
he could only do so out of one eye.
Who could ignore Obama talking over
“God Save The Queen” just over a year ago? The liberal media,
that’s who.
And there’s President Obama’s posture over the Falkland Islands.
Argentina, then governed by a vicious dictatorship, invaded the
Falklands thirty years ago and British forces successfully defended
their island against invasion. But not only does Obama take
Argentina’s side on the Falklands, he wanted to call them Malvinas
as the Argentines do. Instead, Obama
called them the Maldives which are situated in the Indian
Ocean. Obama’s statement on the Falklands is far more egregious
than what Romney had to say about the London Olympics. Frankly,
statements like that lead me to conclude that Obama isn’t
intelligent enough to be in the same room with Romney.
The British press isn’t so
awed with Obama and finds
his oratory rather tedious. So Obama’s rows with Britain get
covered by the British press, right and left. However, the liberal
press in this country has said more about Romney’s row with
the Brits in one day than they’ve had to say about Obama’s
litany of troubles with the UK in the past 3½ years.

Of course Obama is WORSE.
The whole point is that your guy was supposed to be so much BETTER.

Given Obama's conduct towards Great Britain, I was surprised at Prime Minister Cameron insult of Salt Lake City and Utah in response to Mitt Romney's fairly mild comment on the security readiness of the London Olympics. I have long valued America's relationship with Great Britain, but perhaps Britain is more aligned with the statism of Obama rather than the more "moderate" Romney. Cameron certainly seemed to be joining in the Obama campaign when he last met with Obama.

What did you expect Cameron to do when Romney flies to London and insults the British just as the Olympics are opening?

Obama did get better grades at Harvard Law School than Mittens did, so I reckon he's intelligent enough to at least stand in the same room as him. He also manages to spread his gaffes out, rather than turning himself into a national joke in one day. Remember, Mittens went over there to show us how much better he is than Obama.

What were Obama's Harvard Law grades?
Mike G| 7.28.12 @ 6:59AM
They were all "A's". I know, I know, we don't have any proof. You'll just have to accept this like a good little sheep.

What were Obama's Harvard Law grades?

Romney was also an honors grad of HLS. One can pump up the GPA at Harvard Law by taking classes in the School of Education. My source for this is an HLS graduate friend of mine.
Obama has turned himself into a national joke many, many days.

SIMULTANEOUSLY, Romney was also an honors grad at Harvard's Business School, DRed.

I was (am) no fan of Gordon Brown, but I was disgusted at the way Obama treated him.
Brown was down, he needed a boost, and Obama was his fellow big lib. He was the newly elected POTUS, a big woop all around, he could have shared some of that love with Brown. Indeed, out of leftist solidarity he should have shared it, boosted up his fellow lefty lib a bit, just a bit.
But, no, no, he didn't do that, did our fine president, Barack Obama (mmm mmmm mmmm).
Instead, he basically made a fool out of poor old schlub Gordon Brown.
Despicable.

This is why DRed and his red friends get the lack of respect they deserve. Pretending Obama is an accomplished intellectual after 4 years of examples of the opposite, is insulting. It's not 2008 anymore man.
Teflon93 | 7.28.12 @ 11:11AM
Obama has attained the supreme intellectual achievement---lawless and arbitrary power over others, along with complete immunity from accountability for his actions.
Plus free bathhouse membership.

After watching that abortion of a ceremony last night, one thing does come immediately to mind...Mitt was right.
