The Spectacle Blog

Yesterday afternoon, Boston Mayor Tom Menino backed down on his comments concerning the opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in the city.

Now Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel should do the same.

Although Emanual might be right to say, “Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago’s values.” Chick-fil-A stuffs chicken, not ballot boxes.

Well, on the bright side, when Chick-fil-A does open in Boston there will be lines of people waiting to get in wanting a good meal and wondering what all the fuss was about.

Lots of them in Alabama. Great chicken soup, excellent chicken salad sandwiches (with egg, if I recall---possibly good enough for Phil Moscowitz).

The ACLU has come out in favor of Chik-Fil-A. They don't support the view, but have stated that discrimination for that purpose is "viewpoint discrimination."

But when have Chicago Pols been noted for brightness, anyway?

Frankly there is a lesson here about how The Left stiffles economic expansion in the name of Political correctness, to say nothing of what used to be free speech.

The verse from the Horst Wessel song was, "If you do not get in line, we will bash your head in."

Rahm is very busy right now collaborating with the gay liberationist Louis Farrakhan. The progressive is always entertaining to watch unless you are within a couple hundred miles of them.
