The president has again invoked his daughters to justify his
support for abortion. According to a Politico
story, Obama, campaigning in Portland, OR, Tuesday, said, “Mr.
Romney wants to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood. I think
that’s a bad idea. I’ve got two daughters. I want them to control
their own health care choices.”
It’s probably not a coincidence that Obama mentioned Planned
Parenthood just as it has come under fire in the wake of
news of a woman dying from a botched abortion at a Planned
Parenthood facility in Chicago last Friday, and after renewed
calls by congressional Republicans for public hearings about
the scandal-plagued abortion business.
Obama invoked Malia and Sasha in March, when he explained why he
had called Sandra Fluke after she was insulted by Rush Limbaugh.
Fluke was the Georgetown Law School student and abortion activist
who demanded at an unofficial congressional hearing that her
friends receive free birth control from the Catholic institution.
“The reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about Malia and
Sasha and one of the things that I want them to do as they get
older is to engage in issues they care about,” Obama
said.
On the 2008 campaign trail, Obama told an audience that he
supported sex education that included information about
contraception and abortion because, “I don’t
want [my daughters] punished with a baby.”
In the past, Obama has
declared candidates’ families “off limits” to the media and
political opponents.
Obama employs a double standard when it comes to his own family
and the political spotlight. That’s no example for his daughters to
follow.

"Off-limits," unless you are Trig Palin.
I expect Sharia and Malaria to grow up sluts.

What a classy example to set for your kids.
Warrior| 7.25.12 @ 2:19PM
Which O are you talking about, Obama or Occam? I'm pretty sure OT has not glorified drug use, called for babies who have been born to be left in a closet to die, assassinated American citizen's without due process or openly associates and hires avowed Communists and racists. I disagree frequently with OT but there is no question that he sets a much better example for the youth of today.

Thank you, Warrior, sir. My kids have a mother who provides the hammer, with me as back up. As they are home schooled by a brilliant stay at home mom, they are highly supervised and not spoiled. Neither my wife nor I drink or smoke or engage in any drug use, nor did we. I work at my job, go home, am faithful to my wife, and take care of my kids. That's what I do. My opinions you see here.
My point about Obama kids---they are growing up in a fishbowl, surrounded by other rich, spoiled kids, with a mom and dad that have NEVER once supported a traditional family, with a dad who publicly discusses frequently how he expects them to "not be penalized for a mistake," using them as examples of who he would support abortion for, and who hang around Hollywood A-listers of questionable morals and behavior all the time.

The children also get super expensive vacations while having their whims indulged and personal bodyguards provided. They go to frequent State Personal Performances at The White House.
Hello, do you see any structure or realism being applied? DRed, I'm a psychiatrist, for crying out loud. I am being as serious as the grave. Sorry if I seemed flippant. Ronald Reagan's kids have massive problems, Al Gore's kids are screwups, W had a dreadful young adulthood, his kids got into underage drinking, etc. Chelsea seems to have turned out adequate, as did Amy Carter. But I have no idea of what Chelsea may have gone through during the Lewinsky scandal.
But Obama is a druggie jerk. There may be some biological prediliction for his kids for drug use, therefore,, as was true for W's kids, both of whom were convicted of underage drinking. I'd like to see his kids' grades in school to know more, but I would doubt that they are superstars.
Wait and see. They are going to enter adolescence during the next four years.
But I'm not slamming the kids because I'm Conservative. I trained at UCLA, remember? I knew people who knew people. I don't have people who know the Obamas personally; I do know a cabinet member of Clinton's Governorship in Arkansas.
These people are not mysteries to me. Watch and see, DRed. I strongly believe we will see a variation of the Olson twins. And these kids don't have the talent to maintain that type of lifestyle without parental help, unlike the Olsens.

Given that, I expect to see existential angst, and, without a true philosophical/religious foundation to cling to, I expect problems.
DRed| 7.26.12 @ 8:43AM
Saying that you think the Obama kids might have problems because of growing up in the white house is totally reasonable. Ronald Reagan's kids have problems probably because he was a lousy father. W was a screwup as a kid, but his siblings seemed turned out alright. I have friends who know the Bush girls-they're pretty good, all things considered (Lots of kids get busted drinking underage while in college). Chelsea, despite having a pretty lousy father seems to have turned out alright. So I'd say the record is mixed. If Sharia and Malaria want exposure to a traditional family, all they have to do is be part of their traditional family. Saying you expect them to grow up to be sluts is you taking a classless cheapshot at two pre-teen girls because you don't like their parents.
bicentennialguy| 7.25.12 @ 2:24PM
I don't think they will grow up to be sluts. That's awful to speculate, but they will probably grow up to be Marxists.
kpat| 7.25.12 @ 12:54PM
How about this for a good idea: Teach them to make the right choices to begin with. Oh, wait... never mind. I forgot who I was talking about...
bicentennialguy| 7.25.12 @ 2:15PM
His daughters will NEVER have to use the services of Planned Abortionhood....who's he trying to BS?
mzk| 7.25.12 @ 2:49PM
He's daring us, you know. Holding out his kids as bait.
Goldwater Girl| 7.25.12 @ 2:51PM
Too bad abortion wasn't legal when Stanley Ann was pregnant with him! Maybe he can volunteer for the most unselfish act.......... a post birth abortion! Go ahead, BO, do it for your country and your party!
Bob Grant| 7.25.12 @ 6:56PM
Stanley circa 2012 would have no second thoughts aborting baby obama.
She'd be all hooked up with Planned Parenthood and Occupy Wall Street.
spike59| 7.26.12 @ 6:05AM
unfortunately, we're all being 'punished with' HER baby
spike59| 7.26.12 @ 6:05AM
yeah, like HIS daughters will ever be schlepping down to PP for their 'health care'....
Mick Lee| 7.26.12 @ 7:27AM
“I want them to control their own health care choices."
“Health care choices”, huh. As if we were talking about whether to take an antibiotic or an herb recommended by an alternative health practitioner. “Health care choices”—“Reproductive health care”—these are abstraction s removed from the real moral issue of abortion. Liberals are vexed to defend the actual act of abortion; so they use euphemisms. No one is against Obama’s daughters or anyone else’s daughters having choices in their own wellbeing. The issue is over a particular medical practice: the willful destruction of the unborn. At bottom the objection is that abortion is an injustice toward the most defenseless among us. We have to speak up and advocate for their case because they cannot.

Obama: "Don't want my daughters to be 'punished' by a baby"
I wonder if Stanley Ann Dunham Obama Sotero might have given thought to Barack's perspectives on "punishment"?
