Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s comments on Obamacare
repeal, as reported by the Hill, aren’t
terribly encouraging.
“If you like the bill — and some of you may — it is hard to
undo something of this magnitude. It was a 2,700 page bill, which
nobody really understands anyway,”McConnell is quoted as telling a
Kentucky audience.
“If you thought it was a good idea for the federal government to
go in this direction, I’d say the odds are still on your side,”
McConnell continued.
“Because it’s a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it
in the first place.” That’s true enough, but the overall tone
doesn’t show a lot of fight. McConnell said after the Supreme Court
decision that he would seek to repeal the health care law through
reconciliation if he became majority leader.
This comes on the heels of Romney aide Eric Fehrnstrom
denying that the individual mandate is a tax. Some speculated
he was distancing himself from the logic by which the Robert Court
upheld the law, but more likely he was trying to insulate his boss
from charges he had raised taxes by signing a mandate into law in
Massachusetts.

Typical comments from the RINO McConnell. He wants to be patted on the head my the media. He is a get along go along Republican. He needs to be replaced with a real conservative.

"It is a lot harder to undo..." Hey Mitch if the job seems too hard or daunting to you no problem, resign your leadership position today get out of the way and let someone with a back bone and principles take over. We will however expect you to vote to repeal every time the issue comes to a vote whether you are leader or not.
Note to all weak kneed go along to get along Republicans. We have been screwed enough by RINO's and their full blooded communist friends in the Democrat party. Your efforts at repeal are all that stand between you and an outraged electorate. Fail and you will unleash the whirlwind. I am certain that in this life there are far greater things to fear than bad editorials in the NYT and diminished cocktail party invitations. If you sir are not up to the task resign now, collect you overly generous retirement and write a book or some such but get out now. If any of you stay, understand we expect nothing less than full repeal, difficult to accomplish or not. Vote like your jobs depend on it because they do…

Just called old Mitch's office. The lady that answered the phone WAS NOT PLEASED! I said Mitch said it will be hard to dump Barry Care. She immediately said that is not true. My response was I don't care if that is what he said or not, he should say BARRY CARE IS OUT OF HERE....if I have to drop my blood to do it or not!
Needless to say, not pleased.
Mitch's office number is 202-224-2541

Thank-you. It is amazing at how resistant the GOP establishment is to our wishes on topic after topic. Even with Tea Party candidates winning primaries, so many of GOP incumbents show themselves to be passive spectators to the statist take-over. I hope everyone makes their sentiments know as you did. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

Does anyone really believe that the GOP is going to do anything meaningful to stop Obamacare? Why would they? They will be demagogued to death, they have completely failed to stake out any kind of alternative position, and most importantly, it paves the way for endless years of posturing and political horsetrading.
aware| 7.4.12 @ 10:43AM
I don't, Zeppo. The difference between the 2 wings of the Uniparty is rhetoric not action. But there sure are many here, like Herr TLP, who think Republicans will save them.

You know, it truly amazes me the amount of friendly fire coming from supposed conservatives and/or Republicans. Evey article written here and most of the commentary is on the order of the Republicans don't do this that and the other thing. Duh, what about the GD Democrats? Where are the articles and discussion about Maxine Waters, Harry Reid, Charles Schumer, Al Sharpton, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Charlie Rangel, Barbara Jackson Lee, Dic Durbin, F&F, illegal immigration non-enforcement by this Democrat administration, etc? Where? Are they beyond critisism, or have they maybe paid someones to keep their mouths shut? Are you too afraid to critisize Democrats for fear of being SWATTED as some conservative journalists have been? Where's the guts? Is this a conservative oriented periodical or a rag brainwasher for Obama/Democrats???????
LiveFreeOrDie| 7.4.12 @ 9:12PM
Maybe it's the fact that when the R's controlled both houses and the presidency they accomplished practically NOTHING for conservatives. I don't judge the party by the rhetoric, which is lacking by the way, I judge their actions. Expecting major change is naive at best.

Yes, the Bush years were awful. In addition to doing nothing for any of our proposed programs, the GOP spent like crazy and pushed big government legislation. Politicians like Bush and Boehner keep setting the ball up for the opposition to spike it on us.
Despite all the problems, we can't quit. We have removed some RINOs in the primaries and some on Capital Hill have taken notice. Senator Hatch's voting record sure has changed since he saw what happened to Senator Bennett. You are right in that these type of elected officials will keep disappointing us, but as Ronald Reagan said, they may not see the light, but they will feel the heat.
