The spin on this got an early start and will be enforced by the mainstream media.
"Is it not passing brave to be Obama's Secretary and drive in triumph through America?"
Apologies to Marlowe's ghost!

Ok, let me ask a few questions, if you have a seizure why was he not held at a hospital? Second, if you had a seizure how did you drive and cause another accident? I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV but as a programmer the logic does not add up.

There is a limit to how much physicians can do against patient's wills. For example, one can tell a patient---you have a seizure---you should not drive and I'm notifying DMV as we speak---the wife or friend says, "I'll drive" and patient walks out door. Then patient browbeats wife into taking back the keys and we're off to the races---but that would account for the felony hit and run after the second accident.
Thank the ACLU for our limits in protecting public safety in the medical field. And no, CALIFORNIA 5150 Civil Commitment would NOT apply in this type of situation at all.

If he wasn't a criminal then it would be difficult for him to gain Obama's confidence. This may have been purposeful.
