Romney-Paul 2012?

I make the case that a Mitt Romney/Rand Paul ticket would benefit neither man in the long term. Dan McCarthy points to some upsides. The crux of our disagreement is that I do think efforts to integrate the Ron Paul movement into the Republican Party would be complicated, if not halted, by Rand associating himself with an administration repellent to that movement. Paradoxically, that might be a good reason for anti-Paul Republicans to tolerate him on the ticket. (I don’t, for the record, think a Romney-Paul ticket is at all likely.)
