Re: Warren Pulls Even

Aaron notes that Elizabeth Warren has pulled even with Scott Brown in the latest poll despite the Native American flap. It’s Massachusetts; Barack Obama will be on top of the ticket this November. So you can always expect a candidate like Warren to remain competitive. Nevertheless, I think it is striking that Scott Brown is polling better in Massachusetts than George Allen is in Virginia. Warren looks much more beatable than just a few months ago.

Since when do liberal voters care about fraud and criminality? Warren lied and plagirized. That's a big plus on her CV. Ted Kennedy killed a woman. Robert Byrd was a KKK member. William Jefferson Clinton received a standing ovation when he admitted he got away with $90k in the freezer. Clinton was a rapist.....

George Allen and Brown: Fooey on both of them. Who needs more of the same. You can throw in Heather Wilson, Tommy Thompson, and Orrin Hatch as those who should be defeated.

Jack, we would all love ideological purity. Unfortunately it doesn't exist. Now I know these sentiments will probably get me labeled an Israel-firster, or some other insane Paulbot inspired sobriquet. However, in a state like Taxachusetts, having a Senator Brown is as good as it's ever going to get. To think otherwise is just plain ignorant.

As for Orrin Hatch, I think people on the right really underestimate the guy. He hasn't exactly been perfect, but he's done a fine job getting Roberts and Alito on the Court. I could live with him.

I certainly agree that it is imperative to nominate and elect real conservatives who will not buckle to the DC establishment. That's easier said than done. Who could argue that with a different nominee, we would have celebrated the forced retirement of former Senator Reid in Nevada. I loved Sharon Angle, but she wasn't up to the task of winning outside the margin of fraud, which I estimate to be somewhere between 4-7 points.

The bottom line is this. If it comes down to Brown or Warren in Mass., who would you choose? Remember, that's your only choice. If you're like me, then you think it's within the realm of possibility there will be a landslide this fall of epic proportions. Perhaps republicans pick up enough seats to reach the magic number of 60. If Scott Brown or any of the people you mentioned are number 60, I'd be perfectly happy with that.

The Tea Party Is Split On Brown's Voting Record.

Understandably, Brown Will Not Get The Enthusiastic Support Of Many Tea Party Patriots This Time Around.

Jack is apparently hankering for 4 more years of Obama and a bunch of leftist Senators to go with that.

Scott Brown is a good Senator who represents the people of Massachusetts well, and therein lies the rub. The Mass voters lean left, so catering to them while being Republican is tough. Brown is about as conservative as they'd let a Senator be up there. Warren is a faux indian plagiarizer leftwing elitist who will spend the rest of her life piling on bad idea after bad idea if elected. Scott Brown will repeal Obamacare and Warren wants socialized medicine.

The idea that anyone on the conservatives would reject Scott Brown for an ultra-lib like Warren is insane ... only a dumb conservative or a non-conservative would want that.

The Massholes deserve what they get. This race isn't likely to tip the Senate, anyway. If the Republicans win it will be more like 2010, a safe margin. If they lose, it will be by more than 1 seat. Frankly the Northeast should secede, or we could sell it to Canada (they've got cash right now, and very little debt). What exactly does any state north of Pennsylvania produce that the rest of the U.S. needs? Anyone? [crickets]

Patrick| 5.24.12 @ 11:52PM

Enough on the sour grapes. WE were impacted for 40 years when Kennedy was in that Senate seat. It affects US, not just Massachusetts. For that reason, we need to care about who wins. It will be close, but Scott Brown will win it.

Maxwell| 5.25.12 @ 8:06AM

dc before you sell the Northeast please give me a little time to sell my house and move South.

To answer your question what the NE does produce, my law firm of Baer, Brown, Wilson & Springfield has told me that it produces vast quantities of liberals and gun haters.

Massachusetts, for all its political worthlessness, has Harvard Medical School and MIT's Physics Department. I have a high respect for both places.

Brown will vote for Mitch McConnell for Senate Majority Leader. Warren will vote for Dingy Harry. It matters, folks.

As Far As Brown,
“Scott Brown has disappointed us a few times,” Carlos Hernandez, state coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, told The DC. “So are we going to go out there and hold signs for him everyday? I don’t think so.”

Bob Grant| 5.25.12 @ 8:49AM

Clint,

Go ahead and talk sh** to make sure the seat fall right back in the liberals lap.

Are you THAT naive to think Brown would be some Goldwater republican? ...or on some level would you prefer the liberals and obama to control congress so you can continue your protest screeds as an outsider?...or, more cynically, is the plan to split the republican vote to ensure democratic victories throughout the land?

johnd2| 5.25.12 @ 8:48AM

Nobody that the folks in that state are going to elect will please most of the conservatives who post here. Take what you can get guys.
