I'm sorry, where's the Will Smith vid?
apnep| 5.18.12 @ 9:49AM
Can't understand what he's saying because all I hear is French translation. Irk.
Dixie Pixie| 5.18.12 @ 6:50PM
I too have not found a English translation so if anyone else finds it please post the link.
Apnep....As best as I can figure out, the French reporter laid a classic trap of getting Will Smith to agree to the idea that the rich should pay more in taxes and then snapped the trap shut by not referring to Obama's tax rate of 30% but to the proposed French tax rate of 75%.
The reaction shot is about 1.22 minutes into the video.

dear will...before ronald reagan the same rates applied in this country....
Occam's Tool| 5.18.12 @ 10:47AM
He voted for Obama.

It's hard to understand, but I get it. At first, he has no problem paying whatever taxes or tax rate that is required of him to support his country. But apparently 75% is beyond his tolerance level. That's the problem with all those socialized European countries, sure you get free heatlth care, but you only get to keep 25% of your income to live on and support everything else.

Someone should drag out the"Free Market Capitalist" movie [based upon a TRUE STORY] "PERSUIT OF HAPPYNESS". The ending speaks for itself.
Now Will Smith backs a Maxist/Obama?
So much for the really successful person he represented as a vision of pulling yourself up by the Bootstraps and becoming very wealthy due to sheer determination and hard work. Good for Him.
Will Smith is a bigger FRAUD than I would have ever thought.

I liked that movie because it showed a man unwilling to subsist on government programs, and working his butt off so he and his son can have a better life.
I guess Will Smith was too thick headed for that message to sink in.

This video didn't change my mind about the Fresh Prince of Mr. Belvedere.

"I'm glad that I was raised in the US that I went from rags to riches, but now that I'm rich I feel like I have to pay my fair share and that the taxes need to be higher. That's why... wait, did you say 75%? GOD BLESS AMERICA."

He said something interesting starting at about 1:00. He said he was a black man, who didn't go to college, and yet he flies all around the world, something about movies. And then, "I firmly believe that America is the only place on earth where I could exist. So I will pay...(garbled)"
