In a letter obtained by the Las Vegas Sun, the Republican National Committee’s chief counsel warns the Nevada GOP chairman that if Ron Paul supporters sweep the state convention and wind up taking too many delegate slots it could affect the seating of the state’s delegation in Tampa.
The RNC lawyer advises, “I believe it is highly likely that any committee with jurisdiction over the matter would find improper any change to the election, selection, allocation, or binding of delegates, thus jeopardizing the seating of Nevada’s entire delegation to the National Convention.”
As I wrote on the main site, Paul is moving toward having enough delegates to place his name in nomination at the convention. Even some of the delegates legally bound to other candidates will actually be Ron Paul supporters, including 16 of 19 delegates named at the Massachusetts congressional district caucuses, where Paul forces even beat out former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey. Salon notes the potential for disruption, which the party now may be belatedly taking steps to avoid. It’s likely that Paul will overperform the media delegate counts when he gets to the national convention.

Ron Paul supporters dominate Louisiana's Republican presidential caucuses
he caucuses were held in the state's six newly drawn congressional districts.
While the presidential preferences of the delegates were not identified on the caucus ballots, delegates who back the libertarian congressman, who is now the only one of Mitt Romney's adversaries still standing, won the lion's share of the contests, carrying the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th Congressional Districts.
As a result, under party rules, Paul is guaranteed at least 17 of the 46 delegates to the convention at which Romney will almost certainly be nominated for president.

I have never participated in a government-paid junket (though there was one particularly memorable night in Bakersfield that was paid for by a sugar mama...but I digress).

I like a lot of Paul's positions but no one has successfully explained the war on the Fed and the money supply. Paul's followers only insult me when I ask for an explanation. Needless to say, that is not an explanation. A lot of it verges on paranoia though his opposition to raising debt limits is something I admire in him vehemently. As someone said above, a veto-president would be a good thing.
I like his non-interventionist strategy but his "blowback" theory will kill him in November.
What's with the "Israel-firster" obsession? I agree with Paul that withdrawing from the "peace process" would actually be good for Israel (not to mention all that money that goes to her enemies not to fight and lose to her.
