Citizen activists who are working to safeguard the integrity of America’s election system should know they will be outspent and viciously maligned by left-wing pressure groups in 2012. But they should also know that they are on the right side of the history and that they are winning.

This was the central message John Fund, a TAS senior editor, and J. Christian Adams, a former Justice Department attorney, conveyed to audience members at the “True the Vote” Summit held this past weekend in Houston, Texas.

True the Vote was founded after the 2008 elections in response to ACORN-led efforts that resulted in voter registration fraud. Since then, the group has developed an “exportable model” used to train poll workers across the country so they can identify and root out corrupt practices at the ballot box.

Fund, who is also the author of Stealing Elections, cited new polls numbers from Rasmussen that showed that minorities favored voter identification laws by a slightly higher percentage than whites.

That’s because minorities, be they black, Hispanic or Asian, tend live in areas where voter fraud is more prevalent, Fund explained. Liberals who invoke false allegations of racism in an effort to block ID laws are actually doing minorities a great disserve, Fund argued.

“I believe the biggest victims of voter fraud today are minorities,” he said. “They obviously support it [voter ID], they think voter fraud is a more serious problem than anyone…Their leadership has failed them by yelling racism in a crowded little theater, and by dividing us rather than uniting us. Their entire edifice is built on fraud and misrepresentation.”

A large part of the problem at the local level stems from “patronage armies, hacks and consultants, who do politics for a living,” Fund observed. “They need to win, because they need to eat. It’s not about an honest living.”

Adams, the former DOJ attorney, has described in his column for Pajamas Media how an “industry of voter fraud deniers” is out to sabotage American elections with financial backing from George Soros and various liberal foundations. Adams is also the author of InJustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department.

The “denier” network includes: the ACORN-affiliated Project Vote, Advancement Project, Asian American Legal Defense Fund (AALDF), Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Brennan Center for Justice, Common Cause, DEMOS, League of Women Voters, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).

Voter integrity activists should not be discouraged by the scope and magnitude of the opposition, Adams said. Even so, they should have an understanding of the tactics that will be used, he added.

“Everything you do has to be above board,” Adams said. “They [the vote fraud deniers] are liars. Give no quarter. The war between the righteous and the deceivers is as old as time. Don’t let them set the narrative…race will be used as a weapon.”

Deport all the 20 million illegal amigos, otherwise voters fraud will occur, nothing will prevent voter fraud unless we fix the immigration problem, and those uneducated unskilled Latinos stealing our jobs and destroying our entitlement system.

It seems straightforward, but really, even a real liberal like John Stuart Mill suggested that being able to read, write and do mathematics beyond the level of a child was a requirement for the franchise; anyone taking government money (welfare, contractors, employees) should not be given the franchise; anyone who does not pay taxes should not get the franchise and so on.

Contemporary conservatives as usual, are titling at windmills to defend the "legitimacy" of our "democracy" that would not be legitimate in the minds of past liberals.

You are correct in principle. But remember that Mill's principle was flagrantly abused by Southern states for years prior to the Voting Rights Act in order to deny even reasonably literate, intelligent African-Americans the vote, while illiterate whites tended to get a free pass. For that reason, it is now hard to make the argument you make with even reasonable care because of past abuses on racial grounds. As a result, it is likely impossible to resurrect serious discussion of your point amongst our political classes for that and many other reasons (like the preservation of their own skins).

Larry;

I don't disagree with your points, but my purpose was pointing out how ill-served conservatives are by focusing on "voter id", as if clean voter roles is an end of itself. (It's not like I am against voter id, I just don't think it will solve much.)

I used Mill because he does a very good job of helping an illiberal like myself, think about voting which is a proxy for "citizenship" and the proper discussions conservatives should be fostering on the topic.

The reason that the Justice Dept. has gone after red states that passed voter ID laws, is to make sure they are inactivated. Therefore voter fraud can proceed as usual tilting the race for Obama and Democratic candidates. Democrats excel at voter fraud, since they have doing it at least back to the Depression. I used to be a Democrat, but I could not tolerate the far left march and switched to a Republican.

A close relative of mine was in Washington, D.C. on the night Jimmy Carter was elected president and was a guest of a prominent Democrat at the D.C. victory party. One of the topics of conversation was surprise that Carter did not win Illinois and they kidded about how good the Chicago machine was at voter fraud. Nothing that I didn't already know, but its nice to hear that it was out in the open.

This year Obama's supporters will launch an unprecedented voter fraud campaign. Romney's supporters better have a strong ground game to block it, or we will lose this election. Failure is not an option.

Why don't you name and shame the Republican governors who don't ensure the integrity of voter rolls, don't work for voter IDs, and fail to meet deadlines in mailing military ballots? The list is an embarrassment. Partisan media are all too willing to ping-pong with Obama over OBL kill credit, turn a blind eye with the Democrat Media Complex to flag draped coffins in Dover, and ignore our service personnel now left on the field of battle to their long telegraphed retreat.

True the Vote, Mr. Fund's book, and Mr. Adams voice are all laudable efforts and worthy of a press release, but having the brass to hold our party elevated accountable would serve the cause of liberty best, and be worthy of those who give their last full measure of devotion.

Why isn't anyone talking about Scytl the Spanish Software company that is now in charge of counting our US votes! This is so wrong, it's another FOO thing, (Friend of Obama), they will steal the election.
