Today I write an important column (not that the writing or
writer is important; the subject is important) on a good trend
going on in the states: American laws for American courts. Please
read it here.
Here’s the first paragraph:
The Legislature in Alabama, the home state of perhaps the
single most
prominent American-born jihadi, is poised to
become the latest in a line of states outlawing the application of
foreign laws in American courts if those laws violate American
constitutional rights. The laws are desperately needed: Confused
American trial court judges are surprisingly susceptible to
citations of foreign standards to excuse otherwise appalling, even
criminal, behavior.
Enjoy. Thanks.

I have on occasion suggested that those who convert to Islam in prison be given Islamic punishments. After enough stonings and amputations, I think Buddhism might be more attractive as an alternative religion.

A Judge in Tampa applied Sharia Law to a case involving two Muslims. It happened last year. I hope the voters toss this idiot out of office.

In American criminal jurisprudence, the "people" are the victim of a crime or the party that moves the charge (e.g. U.S. v. Knights, South Carolina v. Sandford, People v. Taylor).
In Sharia, offenses are against Allah. It is ironic how the ACLU suddenly ceases its objection to the introduction of a deity into government.
