On Tuesday, several Obama Administration officials met
with a delegation of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood. White House
spokesman Tommy Vietor
said, “Following Egypt’s revolution, we have broadened our
engagement to include new and emerging political parties and
actors.”
Given that the Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 how
exactly is it that they qualify as a new and emerging political
party?
In any case, while the Muslim Brotherhood is
telling the United States, Britain and other Western countries
that it is moderate, its presidential candidate is telling quite a
different story back in Egypt. The same day the Muslim Brotherhood
delegation met with White House officials, Khairat el-Shater met
with the Jurisprudence Commission for Rights and Reforms, a group
of Salafist clerics and scholars. Well, whatever el-Shater said it
made quite the impression. On their Facebook page, the
Jurisprudence Commission stated,
“El-Shater stressed that Shariah is his top and final goal and that
he would work on forming a group of religious scholars to help
parliament achieve this goal.”
Of course, el-Shater jumped into the presidential race despite a
pledge from the Muslim Brotherhood not to do so. When Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton was asked about this development she
replied that the Obama Administration would “watch what
all of the political actors do and hold them accountable for their
actions.” Yeah, her and what army? She went on to say, “We want to
see Egypt move forward in a democratic transition - and what that
means is that you do not and cannot discriminate against religious
minorities, women, political opponents.” Well, religious
minorities, women and political opponents haven’t exactly thrived
under Shariah law.
But this is the Obama Administration we’re talking about. I’m
sure they still view the Muslim Brotherhood as a “largely secular”
organization despite all evidence to the contrary.

They're monsters.
And they're allowing Sinai to become a staging ground for attacks against the state of Israel.
Such activity before caused the Sinai Conflict of '56, and also set the stage for the Six Day War in '67.
They're playing with fire, and they know it. And the IDF allowed themselves to get away from the vigorous training necessary to be able to wage effective desert warfare.
I don't know what the IDF was thinking.........
They had better get their act together, and fast.
They might be looking at significant actions on both their Northern and Southern fronts, and might be looking at that going down much faster than any of them imagined.

In Israel extreme Zionist parties sit in the Knesset and have members in the goverment. What the hell is the difference? It is called democracy.
Drek| 4.5.12 @ 3:00PM
"[E]xtreme Zionist parties" don't control Israel's foreign policy. Nor do such parties allow the Southern Negev to be used as launch areas for attacks against Jordan or Egypt.
Egypt, in violation of solemn treaty, is now allowing Sinai to become once again a threat to the safety of the state of Israel.
And something has to be done about it, or it will become much worse.
Jack in Wi.| 4.5.12 @ 4:24PM
Lieberman is an the most extreme foreign minister in Israel's history. Netanyahu is another extremist and racist. The future only gets worse for Israel as the more sane Jews leave and the extremists get more extreme and crazy.
Drek| 4.5.12 @ 7:57PM
Assuming you're right, assuming this present administration in Israel is as radical as you suggest, ---- in what way has that evidenced itself in their foreign policy vis a vis Egypt, Jordan or Syria?
My earlier response to you still stands, because Israel hasn't allowed its territory to be a source of terror, mayhem and destabilization for its neighbors.
Moreover, "sane Jews" aren't leaving Israel, not in any numbers as to represent a threat to the continuation of the state, and those numbers are more than offset by others leaving countries where they're being tormented, and fleeing to Israel.
As for these extremists you decry, who was it that delivered over Sinai? Begin.
And who was it that vacated Judea, Samaria, who was it that vacated areas which now serve to threaten the lives and property interests of Israeli citizens?
There wasn't anything "sane" in the recommendation to vacate lands West of the Jordan, nor is there any sanity in proposals to vacate the Golan Heights.
Nor was it in any way strategic sense for Israel to back away from Southern Lebanon, and deliver over that area to an Iranian proxy.
Jack in Wi.| 4.6.12 @ 2:14AM
A million Israeli Jews have left Israel and live elsewhere. I would say most of those are sane ones. The ones coming in and the ones breeding the most are mostly among the most radical sects. I just don't see how Israel is viable long term. It depends on us to carry their water for them. That is going to end soon. This country is broke and our military is broken.

You can't see a lot of things, Jack. The existence of the Jewish people over 3400 years is a miracle, Jack. There are obvious conclusions to draw, but your Judenhass prevents you.

The more you pontificate on the subject of Israel, in vast ignorance of the history of the region, the more I am beginning to believe it is not just sheer ignorance, but is beginning to sound more like anti-Semitic behavior. I usually give guys like you the benefit of the doubt. But now, it is getting harder and harder.
Comparing the tiny extremist parties of the Knesset to the Muslim Brotherhood is ignorant and foolish, given the Muslim Brotherhood's sweep and influence throughout the Middle East. Willful blindness is not your typical style, my Wisconsin brother (I was born and raised in Wisconsin, so I can say that).

Dr.Ron Paul,
“Our military’s purpose is to defend our country, not to police the
Middle East.
“As the President prepares to send even more support to Egypt, we should
be reminded that it was our foreign aid that helped Mubarak retain power
to repress his people in the first place. Now we have to deal with the
consequences of those decisions, yet we keep repeating the same mistakes.
“I am not the only one who can see the absurdities of our foreign
policy. We give $3 billion to Israel and $12 billion to her enemies.
Most Americans know that makes no sense.
“We need to come to our senses, trade with our friends in the Middle
East (both Arab and Israeli), clean up our own economic mess so we set a
good example, and allow them to work out their own conflicts.”

It is a mistake to think the Obamanites think the Muslim Brotherrhood is mostly secular. The Muslimm brotherhood, in 1991, established "An Explanatory Memoradum' that included the muslim conquest of the United States. On my copy it is on page 7, paragraph 4, titled "understanding the role of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America". I find it unbelievable that Obama, whose early education was in a Muslim school is so unfamiliar with the people he is helping recieve $1.5 billion from the American taxpayers, has no knowledge of the purpose of one of the major anti-American and anti-Jewish organizations in the Muslim world.

As I posed to the other commenter on Egypt, who isn't fit to sniff Aaron's jockstrap, please tell me the difference between the Nazi Party's view on Jews and the Muslim Brotherhood's view on Jews. He answered with an ad hominem worthy of Jack.
Aaron, of course, knows the correct answer: there isn't one that matters. No difference. And the MB is wildly popular in Egypt. There are obvious conclusions to make, which Reid Smith cannot make, but Aaron can---Judenhass is alive and well in Egypt, as it is alive and well throughout the Muslim world.
