The Spectacle Blog

At times, we owe it to ourselves to step back and appreciate just how lucky we are.

President Barack Obama is among history’s greatest leaders, and we’re blessed to have him.

Russia needed an advocate in the White House, after all.

In previous years, US presidents have represented US interests in negotiations with Moscow.

Lame!

For once, we have a president who can show the kind of flexibility the Kremlin deserves.

Of course he can’t do that until he gets re-elected, but that’s a minor detail.

Obamacare, meanwhile, stands as a towering achievement that is unquestionably constitutional.

Liberal economic policies under Obama have been wildly stimulative, yet fiscally responsible.

So let’s cut out the complaining and be thankful for what we’ve got, shall we?

And Romney is supposed to be better?

hook| 4.1.12 @ 5:32PM

Romney wont be a little better. He will be WAY better. I cannot decide who will win. The media would be for Obama if he wanted us to all become Communists or Muslims, but I cannot decide who will win. Romney is a Mormon which sadly hurts him badly.

PattyMor| 4.1.12 @ 1:08PM

Yes, and we all believe in unicorn, fairies, and leprechauns and that the gov'ment has some big pot of money to pay for our social security, medicare, medicaid, and school lunches (plus breakfast and dinner).

It can leap tall buildings, defy logic, defy the laws of supply & demand, defy God's laws (handing out comdoms and funding abortion providers) and print dollars endlessly without consequences forever more.

When Obama said that he wants to spread the wealth around, he meant to the rest of the world. How many dolts thought they were getting it?

Stan Redmond| 4.1.12 @ 3:17PM

It's spelt 'EVAH'

I would go further. He's sort of a God [Evan Thomas, Newsweek]
Obama is a lightworker. The special type of enlightened spiritual being that will transform the world in to a glorious wonderland resembling the cover of "The Watch Tower." [Mark Morford, San Fransisco Chronical]
Heck, Obama is the number one leg tingler in human history. Move over Jesus, Guru Nanak, Muhamed, Budha, Zarathrusta. History isn't big enough for you AND the Obama.

Claypoole| 4.1.12 @ 3:27PM

"Flexibility" until he gets past his last election. Even if he loses--pray God!--we are still in a lot of trouble. Imagine what a lame-duck BO could do to the country with a spineless Congress and judiciary afraid to criticize, much less stop him.

Oldefarte| 4.1.12 @ 3:39PM

This wirter's other job is obviously as a comedian no doubt [ie greatest POTUS]!!!!

Oldefarte| 4.1.12 @ 3:42PM

Yeah Jack, Romney would be substantially better than the current Barney Fife POTUS that we have presently [but of course you people are so stupid as to allow labor unions to attempt to recall your outstanding governor, so what do you know?]

Clint| 4.1.12 @ 7:50PM

Obama Is A TARPSTER, Where Romney Is A TARPSTER.

Obama Is A OBAMACARIST, But Romney Is A ROMNEYCARIST.

The Tea Party Rebellion Heads To An Open Convention.

Oldefarte| 4.1.12 @ 9:46PM

Don't you ever have an original thought in your head? Crap, it's always the same old C&P repeations. What your TOO SHORT SHORTS BOY has flamed out so you're going after another candidate? Are your Media Matters handlers at the WH instructing you to do so fearing Romney might expose the nation's golfer [not POTUS]? Shazam, Romney might as a candidate appear presidential and make the Chicago Boy Pretender look bad? Maybe Mitt might tell the nation why the original TARP was necessary to save the country from a financial collapse, but that the extended TARP by El Chosen One bailed out his [and the Rickster's] labor union bedmates? Maybe Mitt will explain why the Democrats have screwed this nation financially for the last three years and that we don have available even two more years of this insanity from this Chicago Acorn Communizer Organizing Shiester, huh [of course the Rickster could do that since it has nothing to do with the Catholic Church;hell he hasn't even the guts to explain how the Church is screwing Catholics by playing HIDE THE PEA with their clergy among parishes, right?]!!!!!

Clear out a spot on Mount Rushmore for our great bat eared messiah!

ECM | 4.1.12 @ 4:19PM

It isn't funny when a good 30% of Americans believe this sort of thing to be true.

Floyd Looney | 4.1.12 @ 4:24PM

If your goal is to weaken and destroy the US, then Obama has indeed been the best ever.

hook| 4.1.12 @ 5:33PM

I have never been able to decide if Obama was an idiot or evil.

Tentmaker| 4.2.12 @ 8:24AM

hook, let me help you. He's evil.

Bill| 4.1.12 @ 6:46PM

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lullabys, Legends and Lies| 4.1.12 @ 8:03PM

It's April 1st, I think he's joking!!

Occam's Tool| 4.13.12 @ 6:17PM

LLL: Not until 703 PM did someone realize he was JOKING!

Jack in Wisconsin was lost among the stale cheese. Guys, April 1! Remember, we're Conservatives---we think our foes are objects of mirth, and cheerfully cheese grate their faces.

Bill Reynolds| 4.1.12 @ 10:40PM

This is far too serious a situation for anyone to try to be humorous with. Sadly, we have only ourselves to blame. Blaming Obama is like blaming the dog for biting someone! The owner is to be held liable 100%. We have allowed the situaton to become what it has become. Either through our choice of voting privlege, dillusional behavior, apathy, or denials. We can affect the future for the good, if and when we choose!

Rick| 4.2.12 @ 2:02AM

John Tabin,
You are totally delirious if you think This asshole we have for president is great. He has not accomplished anything but piss on the constitution.
Wake up

Yips| 4.2.12 @ 8:26AM

Rick, I believe this was an April 1st type article. You know, April Fool's Day stuff.

Just like another headline I read late yesterday: "Romney drops out at evening Wisconsin banquet in Madison, endorses Santorum."

hook| 4.3.12 @ 5:18PM

Hey Rick, Mr. Tabin was writing an April Fools piece. Look at first letter in every sentence.

Nancy in NC| 4.2.12 @ 9:35AM

It's pretty frightening when some here don't even recognize sarcasm and humor. Did they vote for Obama?

mobielgeheimen | 4.2.12 @ 11:15AM

He is great but not for ever :)

afvallenineenweek | 4.2.12 @ 11:23AM

He is one off the best's presidents thats for sure :)

Tim the Enchanter| 4.2.12 @ 12:19PM

John... you're going to need a crowbar to get your tongue out of your cheek.

CR Cummings| 4.2.12 @ 12:20PM

Wow....
If you can really SPELL Constitution? ...would you please read it.

Just a small tid-bit for your selective, yet limited, investigative insight...the GM Bailout (resulting in the union control of GM) where NONE OF THE MANY GM DEALERSHIPS THAT WERE SHUT DOWN (with 1 exception)...was an owner/dealer that CONTRIBUTED TO THE O'BAMA CAMPAIGN! That is true...
"We should all play by the same rules" says Pres. O'Bama...But enough trivia...
George Soros, not OBama runs this country, at the moment. For his own personal gain.

Much akin to Jeckyl Island, where JP Morgan, Rockefeller, Rothchilds et al (Fed Reserve guys)planned to kill the little upstart banks growing in the West, and as a result, helped start the Great Depression. We may well revisit that era.

Wake up America! There is more to this than socio-economic equity, under the guise of the Fed entitlements helping the little down-trodden people. And their all-knowing what's best for you and me.
"We the People" in the O'Bamasoros are a means to an end. An end, that we will not like. Not that it will matter, but if the Soros' cronies are re-elected... Remember...I told you so.

Mitt Romney| 4.26.12 @ 8:17AM

I am voting for Obama. He is great. You know everyone says he blames the former President for everything bad but to everyone's surprise he named the San Andreas fault in honor of the former PResident. Now it is called "Bush's Fault"

Marin | 5.16.12 @ 5:39AM

Hi,
I am from the netherlands and i think Obama is fantastic.

Ray DeLotell| 5.19.12 @ 9:51PM

He's done all these things in spite of an inept Teapublican party whose stated agenda is to have him fail. My hope is he will use more executive powers to get things done in a second term and leave the racist right wing nut bags behind!

Mason | 5.23.12 @ 1:11PM

Amid enormous obstructionism and GOP efforts to destroy America, so they could ensure that he is a one termer, Obama was able to bring the country up. If not for the obtrsuctionism, it would be the Clinton years again already, or better, probably even better.
For once people should ask themselves, am I better off spiritually and am I more proud to be an American. Financially, nothing has changed for me--but I am so proud to be an American, much more so than I would be under Floppy Toppy.
