The MSM are a "Player" not a "Reporter" of facts.
Dixie Pixie| 3.28.12 @ 9:33PM
The Republicans would be FOOLS to consider the MSM to be other than the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and the Federal Government.

You linked to a link?
Not that I disagree or anything. I think its a good point. Although it's definitely not equal, a website or a talk radio show against the entire MSM aren't comparative.

I read the article and it was very good.
You wrote,
"American public deserves better than the reporting we've been force-fed. Serious issues are at stake - and the candidates, to their credit, are trying to talk about them. The establishment media, in suggesting otherwise, is giving evidence not of the candidates' shallowness, but of the shallowness of the media itself."
I would completely agree but I would also point out that the conservative media particularly this venue here at TAS has been just as guilty. Not only the writers but many of the bloggers and commentators have been just as guilty.
I have been coming to this site for several years now and in the past year have been screaming this very point. I wish I had a dime for every time I used the phrase circular firing squad and had a heated merry go round argument with many of the authors out here who did in fact take much out of context, exaggerated, distorted these gaffes, and focused on the trivial rather than the larger issues at hand.
I am heartened to see that you, Quin, now realize just how stupid, destructive, and useless this kind of journalism is. Much damage has been done and many on our side helped shovel the crap. I hope it is not o late to heed your words and salvage what we can.

Again, I'm of the opinion that Santorum should be forced to sign [Gingrich's suggested] PLEDGE OF SUPPORT FOR THE EVENTUAL REPUBLICAN NOMINEE, before anyone should consider voting for him as either the Republican nominee or as POTUS, as per the following [IMHO it was traitorously (of both political party and of country) outrageous as to what he said and the clear implication of his words regarding Romney; for any so-called Republican to insinuate that any Republican is the same as the current Democrat POTUS is asinine and stupid and shows only a callous disregard for the truth; to think that any of the Republican candidates is the same as or equates to this Democrat socialist is way beyond the pale of reality and is an indication to me of pure selfishness and self-centeredness on his part]:
'.....Gingrich Calls for Pledge Supporting GOP Nominee Saturday, March 24, 2012 01:38 PMBy: Newsmax WiresNewt Gingrich’s campaign has sent a letter to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus demanding that the national GOP require candidates to sign a pledge promising to support whoever becomes the party's nominee. The move was a clear swipe at Rick Santorum over a recent campaign trail gaffe, reports The Hill's Blog Briefing Room.“I request that you issue a pledge asking all the Republican presidential candidates to support our eventual nominee,” Gingrich chief of staff Patrick Millsaps wrote. “It is imperative that Republicans unite once the nomination process is complete in order to defeat President Obama. We cannot afford four more years of his leadership.”
The letter was prompted by Santorum suggesting Thursday that Obama could be preferable to a candidate such as Mitt Romney, according to The Hill.Santorm's controversial comment: “You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there. If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.”Santorum backtracked on the comment early Friday.....'

Did you read his article? I think he was referring to you when he wrote it.
This selective outrage is really getting tiresome.
Maybe you could help us all to understand which is worse or more 'treasonous' as you put it; a guy who is lying to you boldface that he hears you, knows your concerns, is one of you and wants you to vote for him to the highest office in the land when in actuality he does not, or a guy who says if you vote for the other guy, you might as well as vote for the opposition because in the end they are pretty damn close as both he and the opposition are really not going to radically change the course we are on.
So, if we hit the wall at 90 miles and hour or at 75 miles and hour, I suppose 75 is better and I would take it. But if someone says I will slam on the brakes and slow down to 10 miles and hour, I think I would prefer that. What about you?
What you need to be asking yourself is this guy, Santorum for real, will he really inact the changes needed and steer the course away from the cliff.
Oldefarte| 3.29.12 @ 12:35PM
Maybe just maybe you and other foolish Santorum supporters should instead read the following articles and TRY and understand that possibly our only HOPE of defeating Obama rests sadly with Romney now. since the STUPIDS of the so-called conservative world could find the intelligence to support a true conservative [Newt Gingrich] who is INTELLIGENT AND EXPERIENCED ENOUGH to not only do so but to rule conservatively as POTUS thereafter [oh no he's been married three times, he's an anti-Christian and immoral, right?], so now the only secondary hope is with Romney. The RICKEY RECARDO-RICKSTER is granted a good practicing Catholic, BUT THAT ALONE DOES NOT QUALIFY HIM AS PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL. He has never administered/run/managed anything except his family in all his years as a LOBBYIST AND PA SENATOR, and like all '''''professional congressmen'''''' he would be worthless as a POTUS. WAKE UP AND THINK......IT'S THE GD DEMOCRATS, STUPIDS!!!!!!!!!!!! :

'......Rubio Endorses Romney, Says GOP Primary Should End Wednesday, March 28, 2012 09:51 PMBy: Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida endorsed Mitt Romney as the party's presidential nominee Wednesday night, saying it's increasingly clear that Romney will win the nomination and that continuing the primary fight will only damage the effort to defeat President Barack Obama. Rubio, a freshman senator and tea party favorite, said he's convinced that Romney will govern as a conservative and will be superior to Obama as a president."The quicker we can get this campaign on that focus — focused on the president's record, on the alternative that we offer — the better off we're going to be as a movement but also the better off the country's going to be," Rubio said during an interview with Fox News.Rubio had pledged to stay neutral in the race. On Wednesday he called a floor fight over the nomination at the party convention in August "a recipe to deliver four more years to Barack Obama."Rubio's endorsement followed that of former Florida Gov. Jeff Bush and came a day before former President George H.W. Bush was to back Romney, another sign that more and more party leaders are falling in line behind Romney rather than support rivals Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul. Gingrich has scaled back his campaign, saying he wants to focus on winning the nomination at the convention if Romney fails to win enough delegates during the primary race.Rubio has been mentioned as a potential running mate on the GOP ticket. He told Fox News that his heart, mind and focus remain on the Senate and that he doubts he would be asked to join a Romney ticket.....'

PSII: '.....Huckabee: GOP Nomination Battle a 'Real Disaster' Thursday, March 29, 2012 10:44 AMFormer Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax that the contentious Republican primary battle has been a “disaster” that could harm the nominee’s chances of victory in November. In an earlier Newsmax interview Huckabee — who sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2008 — predicted that the GOP primary would be a demolition derby, and he now says that is “definitely” what it has proven to be.
“It’s been vicious,” he says. “It’s one thing for the candidates to contrast with each other on the views and issues, but what’s happened in this primary is these guys have gone after each other on a personal level.“They’ve attacked each other’s integrity, each other’s honor. Those are the scars that they’re going to have to carry into the fall and it’s not healthy.“I feel it’s been a real disaster for the Republicans and that whoever emerges as the nominee is going to have a lot of commercials run against him by the Democrats with material that was provided by other Republicans, and that’s simply not a good thing.”Asked if he would be happy if Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination, Huckabee responds: “I’ll be happy with the GOP nominee whoever it is, including Mitt Romney, and I’m going to campaign for whoever our nominee is.”
Huckabee’s new radio program “The Mike Huckabee Show,” a daily three-hour talk show, will begin airing on April 2 on Cumulus Media Networks.....'

PSIII: '....Sheldon Adelson: Gingrich 'At End of His Line' Thursday, March 29, 2012 10:57 AM
By: Paul Scicchitano Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who has been financing Newt Gingrich’s presidential ambitions, this week acknowledged that the former house speaker is “at the end of his line” and faces high odds of winning a brokered convention.“It appears as though he’s at the end of his line because I mean mathematically he can’t get anywhere near the numbers and it’s unlikely to be a brokered convention,” declared Adelson in a videotaped interview with The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles and posted on jewishjournal.com.Wearing a button that read “Obama . . . Oy Vey,” the publication reported that Adelson’s comments came during an informal discussion with a small group participating in a three-day leadership and networking retreat on Monday that attracted more than 1,400 Jewish professionals in Las Vegas. “I’m in favor of Newt Gingrich because I like people who make decisions,” Adelson said in the video. “He’s a decision maker.”Adelson, by far Gingrich’s largest donor having given more than $11 million to the Winning Our Future super PAC along with his family, was also not optimistic that Gingrich would be a vice presidential contender either.“I would have said yes because in the past I’ve talked about him and Mitt about committing to each other to be vice president,” Adelson said in the video, adding that he did not receive an answer from former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Gingrich wanted to avoid committing to Romney because it would have dampened his chances among Republican governors, whose support he still needed.
“If I go into the contest with a vice president already picked, they’re not going to help me,” Gingrich responded, according to Adelson. Adelson also told the publication what he did not like about Romney and his now chief rival, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum — comparing Romney to President Barack Obama. “He’s not the bold decision maker like Newt Gingrich is. Every time I talk to him, he says, ‘Well, let me think about it.’ Everything I’ve said to Mitt: ‘Let me look into it.’ He’s like Obama. When Obama was in the Illinois Senate not one in 186 times he voted present because he didn’t want to establish a record for himself,” according to Adelson, who described Santorum as “too social” in his opinion.“I’m a decision maker. You got to come up and make decisions. You got to have the courage of your own convictions and you have to be able to take some risk,” he explained of Santorum. “This man has no history whatsoever of creating something. That having been said, I know Rick. I like him. We’re friendly, but I’ve got to tell you something: I don’t want him to run my country.”....'

We'll leave aside the funny comment that Hillyer is the only Santorum guy at Santorum-For-President, er, the American Spectator.
But Hillyer has shut up and sat down? In which alternative universe has that occurred? Yesterday Quin got all huffy and puffy about the grave threat of politicians' kids to western civilization. All because somebody dared to endorse Romney.

Casey Can't Read returns to comment. Hillyer's most recent posts are not pro-Santorum but "studiously neutral" thanks to some vow he's taken not to comment on the merits of the candidates. Meanwhile RINO Kaminsky worships at the same false altar you do: Mitt Romney, Lord of the Etch-A-Sketch.
