The Spectacle Blog

In my earlier post, I described Rick Santorum breaking off his speech to help attend to a woman who fainted flat-out onto the hard concrete floor. Here’s the video.

I also mentioned a post-speech interview that Mobile Press-Register Political Editor George Talbot did with Santorum. With photographer Bill Starling filming, here’s part of it. Talbots short report online so far does not include notes from that interview.

Finally, one last note from last night. The Alabama Policy Institute, a truly influential and excellent think tank, had invited all four remaining GOP candidates to its forum and dinner. Only Santorum accepted. I saw API founder and president Gary Palmer again today. His response to Santorum’s appearance? “He looked presidential — he really connected with the audience.”

I have the same reaction to a Santorum sermon. I want to pass out.

Give Rick some credit here. As soon as he saw that she had fainted he rushed over to see if any money had fallen out of her pockets.

ZR;

Might I suggest you disengage whatever you think is working along with the rest of you? Whatever you claim to have still walking the Earth is an embarrassment no matter whose name you might try to claim.

Oh, please. it's a joke so you can save the unctuous piety. Let's hope that if the woman were truly injured an ambulance was called or has St. Rick taken to the laying on of hands?

Ha....ha..........haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

I tried, I really did, but man, I need a little more to work with than that.

In your circles is "He's a devout Catholic!" enough to get people rolling in the aisles?

Was the woman hurt? It was nice of Rick to help. We call that being a mensch.

He actually had to go check it out. There's no right answer. Of course, someone could note that he suspended his campaign for a few moments.
