Dr. Chu (he must be a doctor of green) has never heard of the laws of thermodynamics; he wants to beat them with "green" energy which, unfortunately for him, does not exist.

I think he won the Nobel Prize in Physics, which might demonstrate that even if you can prove something in a laboratory somewhere, it doesn't necessarily mean you can do a thing in the real world.

Physics? Really now? I should think that someone so 'learned' would intuitively understand that bar some incredible break throughs in technology, that solar and wind power can never provide sufficient base-load for the power grid. It's simply a matter of space needed to produce with both technologies. The fact remains that only nuclear power can keep up with the increasing demand for our energy needs. This devotion to silly 'green-energy' as a solution to anything should fall of it's own weight. Even O's favorite electric vehicle boat anchors need electricity to recharge them. No one seems interested in that discussion, since at the point they appear to be 'green'. Sheesh, if only folks had passed high-school science they'd understand, but then the schools would have to detract from diversity training to do that. How silly of me?
