Wow. So the Establishment is changing the rules after-the-fact to reward their man. Disgusting.
Steven W. | 3.1.12 @ 5:50PM
This was declared on the night of the primary - that two of the delegates were reserved for the winner of the primary
Simon Templar| 3.1.12 @ 6:12PM
By hook or crook they will see a Romney nomination..did I not say this..several months ago?
It really is amazing what conservatives will put up with and what they do to each other and how easily they are played.
I have said for more than a year over and over that this is about the GOP establishment versus its conservative base and the inherent conflict between progressive moderate republicans and their allys libertarians versus conservatives.
Ross K., is a good example, he leans in Romneys direction but claims he is voting for Santorum. My god, the deception, subterfuge, and misdirection here is pathetically obvious and laughable.
In a normal world, this would be headline news that would really piss off the base to a point of revolt and backlash. It will not. The establishment Republicans and their sycophants in the media have used every dirty trick in the playbook since the start of this and to conservatives shame they have played right into every move.
I am afraid that if conservatives can not deal with the minority in their own party they have no hope in defeating the one at the national level.
The GOP establishment for the millionth time has no interest in winning this presidential election, they want the congress and control of the money allotment and strings. The reelection was a given as they follow the 'its your turn tweedle dee' system and the premise that business as usual will continue uniterrupted. The Tea Party is the problem, not D.C.
It really is a truism, Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line..look at today's polls compared to last week. Absolute group think and a herd of idiots.

What a whiney bunch Santorum and his supporters are. Grow a pair and man up.
beebop2| 3.1.12 @ 7:02PM
Totally. He is dead for me with appealing to democrat union members in Michigan -- where are his lauded "standards?"
Also? Who the heck is Newt trying to fool? Mitt had to win his "home state of Michigan" or shouldn't be the candidate??? Newt couldn't even manage to get himself on the VIRGINIA ballot -- you know, that state Gringrich actually LIVES in?
JJ| 3.1.12 @ 7:07PM
Won't get a man up out of the weak, dull whiney Romney.
Nick| 3.1.12 @ 6:30PM
Hey Quin. You thought it was just great for Santorum to robocall Democrat voters to vote for him. How can you bitch about this? Payback is a,well you know.
JJ| 3.1.12 @ 7:06PM
You don't think the robo calls were payback for the carpet bombing of his political opponents?
Tom| 3.1.12 @ 7:44PM
Yep, Santorum is SO EVIL for actually convincing people to vote Republican!!!!
Dai Alanye | 3.1.12 @ 10:06PM
The very idea of appealing to Democrat voters! Who does Santorum think he is, Reagan or someone?
Quin| 3.1.12 @ 7:06PM
ROmney's folks wrote the rules ensuring open primaries. Nothing wrong with Santorum going after Demo votes. That's what Reagan did in 1976 and 1980 primaries and caucuses.
Santorum FOLLOWED the rules; Romney's folks now have changed them after the fact, which really means they have broken them.
SpiralArchitect| 3.1.12 @ 7:52PM
The quality of TAS is really going down hill.
A story like this could be presented in a quality fashion presenting the same facts. This might be something worth pursuing, Quinnn.
Al Regnery was right to look toward the future as Am Spec has been in decline for some time.
Ward Bond| 3.1.12 @ 8:56PM
Quin, I think 2010 sent shock waves throughout the Ruling Class Republicans. Conservatives, not obama, are viewed as the enemy to their power. They are willing to sacrifice this election to root out the hillbilly Tea Party. That's just the way I see it.
Edward Cropper | 3.1.12 @ 9:56PM
Reagan actually went for democrat votes he didn't play games about it. There is a difference that even you should understand
SpiralArchitect| 3.2.12 @ 4:07PM
+1
Nick| 3.1.12 @ 7:19PM
Nothing wrong if Santy does it,heh. Oh well. In any event,Santorum is almost 100 delegates behind the eventual nominee. One makes little difference.
Dai Alanye | 3.1.12 @ 10:09PM
Seems to make a difference to the three-time loser. What's his name again? Oh yeah, the Man from Michigan. His father was governor, you know.
Tom| 3.1.12 @ 7:43PM
NOTHING that the Romneyites do surprises me.
and NOTHING will convnice me to actually vote for this despicable human being in November.
R Martin| 3.1.12 @ 7:44PM
Looks to me like the Michigan Republicans couldn't run a cake raffle at the county fair.
Nick| 3.1.12 @ 7:57PM
Tom-you mean like making robocalls begging Democrats to vote for you? Oh wait. That was Santorum.
Makes a guy want to throw up.
mjs_pa| 3.1.12 @ 8:19PM
Sort of like the 53% of the vote romney got in NH from independents and democrats.
romney cross voted in MA against Ted Kennedy.
romney's campaign fought for a MI open primary....one would have to guess: hoping to get democrat voters.
romney used Rick Santorum's voice in robocalls endorsing romney.
Tom| 3.1.12 @ 9:51PM
Yea, Romeny and his idiot minions certainly do make me want to throw up.
Come to think about it, that's what I will do to the Romney propaganda literature when it begins to defile my mail box.
PCP Smoker| 3.1.12 @ 8:57PM
Funny how Romney-drone Quinn ended up defending RINO Olympia Snowe on a blog spot here in these pages. He stated she voted with conservatives quite often, and what a loss it would be for the GOP.
Then we have this "The only GOP senator to join 50 Democrats in killing the Blunt amendment was Sen. Olympia Snowe (ME). "
As usual the RINO ends up smearing fecal matter all over DC conservatives like Quinn. Good job asshole.

Ward Bond. I take it you are not THE Ward Bond.
Never cared for Wagon Train myself.
Ward Bond| 3.1.12 @ 10:17PM
Nick, THE Ward Bond would have been for Santorum or Newt, not Romney.
Oldefarte| 3.2.12 @ 1:39PM
No fool, the difference is that those Democrats would/will vote for Santorum in order to cause the defeat of Romney and the nomination of Ricky who they can easily defeat ['....Tom| 3.1.12 @ 7:44PM Yep, Santorum is SO EVIL for actually convincing people to vote Republican!!!!......']. Also those Democrats will all be instead voting for Obama/Democrats in November, and not Santorum if he be the Republican choice. Reagan got Democrats to vote for HIM as opposed to his Democratic opponent [Carter] in the general election, and therein lies the difference. Santorum is only using his Penn labor unionist connections to garner votes in the midwest contests, and therefore he is more of a yankee Democrat disguised as a Republican [and a foremrly defeated one in his own home state] than a true Republican [and certainly not a conservative, at least not economically speaking]!!!!!!
Oldefarte| 3.2.12 @ 1:40PM
As of today's reporting Santorum is sinking in Ohio etc while Romney is assending.....guess those women voters pi&sed; off over his anti-birth control is now paying off in the polling!!!!
