Mitt's Night

By winning Arizona and Michigan, Mitt Romney did what he needed to do. Rick Santorum had an opportunity to win the popular vote in Michigan and even pull off an upset in winner-take-all Arizona. That opportunity slipped away. Santorum could still win most of the delegates out of Michigan, however, and he has revealed some serious Romney weaknesses. The primaries and caucuses have also tended to be independent of one another this year, with little momentum. A good night for Romney but we will have to see what it means going forward.

If only Rick hadn't taken his wife's advice to smile more before the Arizona debate. Mean Rick would have accomplished more than nice Rick. He needed to go after RonPaul's non-existent legislative record, and explain that Mitt looked like a conservative only when compared with McCain.

Why the guy doesn't listen more to me, I do not know.

Yeah sure go after a record of opposing all these government boondoggle. Hey folks I helped pass NCLB, Medicare part D and unbalanced budgets adding trillions in debt. That Ron Paul he never passes anything.

Yeah, it would be hilarious if the results weren't going to be so tragic.

Sean evidently admires Mitt's triumph of Obamneycare. Or is it RonPaul's success in passing one minor bill during decades in Congress?

The true conservative in the race continues to be Santorum.

The race goes on and let the best man win. Whoever gets the nomination will have my full support. Our government keeps mutating into a corrupt dictatorship. We must turn things around quickly to preserve individual freedom and prosperity.

Santorum made Romney defend (and spend money on) his home turf, and will still grab about half the delegates from Michigan. Super Tuesday will not be Romney's night.

How much did Romney outspend Santorum by, Jim? 100-1?

Note that Romney's out of money--he's having to go back to the fundraising well.

Perhaps all those attack ads had something to do with it?

Biggest loser last night? Isolationism/non-interventionism.

It was on the ballot via ultra-isolationist Ron Paul. Got 7% in Arizona, and 10% in Michigan.

So much for the much ballyhooed comeback of the "Robert Taft wing" of the GOP.

Sorry James Antle (other neo-isolationists), but we Republicans, and most especially we libertarian Republicans want a strong defense and someone who will stand up and fight against Islamo-Fascism.
