Romney Wins Arizona

Fox News has just called Arizona for Mitt Romney and picks up 29 delegates in the winner take all state.

The same cannot be said for Michigan - at least not for the moment. With 20% of the votes in, Romney has a narrow lead over Rick Santorum (41% to 38%).

Of course, even if Santorum prevails in Michigan, Romney will win delegates. But this should have been a rout for Romney.

Go Rick

yes, go...far, far away

Ha. Santorum didn't even win the Catholic vote in BOTH Michigan and Arizona, according to exit polls. When they get to the more populated counties in Michigan Romney may win by as many as 30,000 votes. For all the "smart" analysis that Romney is a weak candidate, the other 3 are weaker, particularly against Obama in the latest Gallup Poll. Go Mitt!!

Mike 3/505| 2.28.12 @ 10:21PM

"more populated counties" = cities = liberals

WL| 2.28.12 @ 10:25PM

I noticed that the Catholics went for Romney as well... that is somewhat surprising...

As far as your support for Mitt...I am not so sure that your political observation is that much different than a Democrat...

It kind of sounds like you are bandwagon bum...you know...the guys who sit in the bleachers and have two jerseys under their chair until the winner is obvious...Then, the winning jersey goes on...and the other one stays under the chair...

You got your 30,000 vote quip straight from Fox News and Rove's analysis didn't you....don't worry...we know.

Now here are some vote counts for you. Romney beat the LOSER McCain by 9% in 2008...and still lost...to the old Buzzard that lost to Obama...

Now ask yourself why...
It's easy their fella..because Mccain wouldn't take on Obama with any guts.

And with your boy Romney out there talking about not saying "incendiary" comments for the base....we know what that means...If Romney wins...your hollow skull will sit back and watch the squish (Romney, that is) sit there and get pulverized on the ropes and ridiculed for being a Mormon...and will never fight back.

Trust me on that.

Drek| 2.28.12 @ 11:17PM

Don't be surprised by Catholics not going for Santorum.

Even for those that are devout, Santorum's act of coming off more Catholic than the Pope, more Catholic than thou is tremendously grating.

He rubs raw, and he rubs raw even those inclined to agree with him.

And the way he keeps pushing his family grates on those without families. It's almost as if he's implying what's wrong with you that you don't have a large family. It's all very, very weird.

In addition, American Catholics are way past supporting somebody just because he's a Catholic.

When they long ceased to collectively support Notre Dame football just because it's Notre Dame, there's no way a politician can count on their collective support, or even count on a bare majority of their support.

AZ is a "Right-to-Work" state, and Santorum's opposition on "Right-to-Work" law sunk him in AZ and MI. The GOP lawmakers in MI are crafting the "Right-to-Work" bill. "Pro-union" Santorum cannot seal the deal.

Looks like my state just reelected Obama....Thanks zonies.

WL| 2.28.12 @ 10:27PM

Yep...they did.

i didn't know 'the state of confusion' was holding a primary

Matthew Quigley| 2.28.12 @ 10:32PM

No wonder I want to vomit when I see Arizona plates...thanks, you buttheads. And STH out of New Mexico!

somnolence| 2.28.12 @ 10:59PM

Trust me, WL, I know sour grapes when I hear and see it, and your ranting here is the epitome of such a stance. Wherever I derive my sources, whether from Fox News or elsewhere is irrelevant. You also need to brush up on your antipathy toward Mormonism, as it is vaguely showing through. Trust me, the Democrats won't dare bring it up, and Romney has learned a lot about being lethal since 2008, and BTW, he has WON the last 3 "debates". Now, go find some sort of solace that you can live with. You sure as hell will delude yourself as will millions of others, by trying to find that "perfect" candidate. Romney is certainly the best available, and don't make me writhe in nauseous agony if you mention that twerp, Mitch Daniels.

somnolence| 2.28.12 @ 11:05PM

The latest Gallup Poll says you all are wrong about Obama prevailing over Romney. I'm glad I'm immune from your pathetic pessimism. Whoever the GOP candidate is, I will vote for in November. Are you two willing to toe that resolve?

WL| 2.28.12 @ 11:15PM

Oh...don't worry. I will vote for you over Obama...but you won't win anymore than Romney will.

So lets raise our glasses to that....

We'll both be LOSERS.

WL| 2.28.12 @ 11:14PM

You call it sour grapes...I call it frustration with our movement for never being able to learn. Why is it so hard for you folks to see that we keep doing the same thing over and over and over? I'll never get it.

As far as the Mormon business. If you would keep an eye out for my posts, I never EVER comment with derision about religions, especially Mormons. I wish I lived in Utah sometimes, because I like them a great deal. I actually almost moved to Utah to follow a very nice looking one that I went to college with...so on the Mormon issue...you read into it too much.

As far as Mitch Daniels, I agree...he can keep his butt in Indiana. I can't stand him.

BUT, you are gravely mistaken if you think the Machine politics of Romney and his badgering of the others, and his underhanded attack machine destroying others while doing the ol flop for the referees is winning...you are going to see winning shortly...when Obama whips Romney.

You also call it "perfect." This is lie and an outright fraud of an argument put out there by the Republican machine. I am sorry you cannot see it, and think millions of us who see this kabuke theatre play out over and over and over are deluded.

Your people will are winning this bout...and I hope you find "solace" in that...because the months ahead will wipe any of that crap away and you will face the truth...You and others just cost us the election....

For the second time in a row.

somnolence| 2.28.12 @ 11:23PM

Obama couldn't beat some local magistrates I know in an election. Like I say, I'm glad that pessimism isn't catching. Keep on feeling miserable, as I'm glad that isn't my thing. Romney will make Obama look like the misplaced, dismayed, incompetent Chicago machine puppet he really is, and will thrash him in debate worse than he has with the three other GOP opponents. The sheer backwardness of the premise that "Romneycare is the forerunner of Obamacare" will be fearlessly and eloquently spelled out with confidence by Romney in the autumn debate. For all the current sniping he still rolls on.

Nick| 2.28.12 @ 11:26PM

The felons of Detroit must have forgotten to vote.

Drek| 2.28.12 @ 11:32PM

But they'll be reminded in the Fall.........

And just think, Santorum wanted even more of them to be able to vote, because he wanted to extend the franchise to former felons.

Unbelievable!

Utterly unbelievable.

somnolence| 2.28.12 @ 11:30PM

Much to Rick Santorum's chagrin.

WL| 2.28.12 @ 11:35PM

I admire your fortitude, and your quips about "pessimism isn't catching," and "thrash him...worse...than the three other...GOP opponents" are pretty catchy, if not kinda sad.

But you go on there Mr. Victory...you lead the way...and follow Romney the Champion right to glory...while the rest of us just melt at the mere mention of his greatness.

There is a certain gratification that soldiers have when some ButterBar LT goes off to save the world and gets shot in the ass...

Come back in November...and I'll tell you all about it.

Bill| 2.28.12 @ 11:42PM

Santorum made a fatal mistake endorsing Specter and Specter was the 60th "deciding" vote passing Obamacare, and which Romney pointed out in the last debate, and that coat Santorum: AZ & MI.

Marco2| 2.28.12 @ 11:48PM

Mama mia, mama mia, that gassy little Ricky speech was a hoot. Finally ready for some party unity, folks?
