I found out about the rioting in Baltimore while watching the Red Sox-Orioles game on Saturday evening. Violence arose following protests against the Baltimore PD over its role in the death of Freddie Gray earlier this month.
Late in the game, Red Sox announcer Don Orsillo drew viewers' attention to the scoreboard which informed the crowd to remain in Camden Yards following the conclusion of the game as per the order of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
The game went extra innings and ended on a home run by Orioles outfielder David Lough in the 10th. Attendees were allowed to leave the ballpark a short time later.
There's no question the Baltimore PD wasn't on the up and up when it stated that Gray was arrested "without incident". If a severed spinal cord isn't an incident I don't what is. The Baltimore PD now admits they denied him medical care. Gray died of his injuries a week ago.
