Catching up with two-week-old events that I attended but had no
time to write about, I finally have given attention to a really
important forum at the National Press Club in which Virginia AG and
conservative hero Ken Cuccinelli absolutely schooled Massachusetts
AG Martha Coakley on the importance of individual liberty. Please
read it, not because I wrote it, but to see
Cuccinelli at his considerable best. A taste:
Cuccinelli pounded home that theme. “This litigation relates to
liberty.” ObamaCare is part of “the dramatic destruction of liberty
in this country.” The individual mandate would require “that
liberty be crushed.”
Great job by the man who won the very first legal battle against
Obamacare.

As a MA resident I've been underwhelmed by Martha Joakley since her stint as Assistant DA in Middlesex County.
She's a ritualistic liberal of the worst kind. There is no there, there.

Thank you Mr. Hillyer. I would have loved to have been there to see and hear Cuccinelli speak. I am fortunate to receive his liberty updates via e-mail through his "Cucinelli Compass." Your analysis of the debate prompted me to look up the root of liberal (liber and alis). I was surprised to learn that after the American Revolution the word liberal took on a new meaning in U.S. politics such that it described an individual or group that desired to have government action affect social change. Well that pretty much sums up our modern day liberal they simply cannot get enough government to rule the people. Now if we could just get the liberals to understand their would not have been an American Revolution without first the Age of Enlightenment from which our founders drew their wisdom. Thank you again for your fine article.

"Liberty" just isn't part of the vocabulary recognized by a so-called liberal.

Your pop-up needs help! You just have a very brief window to get someone's attention, and an old guy slowly saying hello won't get it. This is not the format for discursive chat. Devise and test a topic sentence that leads to achieving your goals. Just a few word, please!
