At the twelve23 site, I explore
the more far-reaching ramifications of the Obama
contraception/abortifacient mandate.
[T]he HHS regulations don’t merely affect Catholic practices
related to contraception. Instead, they would allow the government
to interfere almost at will with any economic- or health-related
policies of any denomination or religion. Orthodox Jewish charities
conceivably could be forced to do work on the Sabbath. Amish could
be required to use electricity to comply with rules promulgated by
the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Or, if liberal
cultural warriors have their way in the long run on “medical
marijuana” or “compassionate assisted suicide,” regulations could
force Baptist hospitals to provide those services as well. It’s not
that these scenarios are likely; it’s that, under the legal
theories being assumed by the administration, there would no longer
be any constitutional barrier to such policy choices. Alas, as
plenty of experience shows, that which the federal government is
not forbidden to do usually ends up, in the long run, being a power
the government actually exercises.
For all who care for freedom, the administration’s decision on
this subject should be a call to arms, because it is a direct
threat to all we hold dear.

This example is an excellent reason why the Republican Leadershit must either do the right thing or get off the pot and if Romney wants to be the President must also show he earns iut not just because he is annointed from above.

The threat of intrusive, dictatorial, corrupt government is already upon us. Our government increasingly attempts to control nearly every aspect of daily life. A responsible people needs to take action to regain control over our lives and return government to its limited role of governing, not exploiting citizens.

The following is proof of what I've been saying concering the Democrats subversively leading Republicans into a political boxed canyon over this religious issue:
'....Rush: Democrats Twist Birth-Control Mandate Against Santorum

Democrats are morphing the Obama administration's mandate on birth control into a campaign plot against Rick Santorum and other Republican candidates for president, Rush Limbaugh says.
"Willing accomplices in the media" are helping Democrats take advantage of the issue, Limbaugh said Wednesday on his radio show. They are trying to establish the notion that Santorum and the other Republicans are determined to deny women birth-control pills, Politico reported. President Barack Obama recently announced a mandate that required faith-based employers to provide insurance coverage for contraception for their workers. Under heavy fire from the Catholic Church and others, Obama changed the mandate last week to require insurers, rather than religious groups themselves, to provide contraceptive coverage.
"The whole point of this contraception stuff [that] started last week is to make sure that if Santorum gets this Republican nomination, that's what he's going to be known for, and of course the theme of that is: Santorum hates women, Republicans hate women, Republicans have no respect for women. Republicans want women in the kitchen constantly pregnant," Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh also chided those who use contraceptives simply to avoid serious consequences, Politico reports. The will vote for Obama on that issue alone, he said.....'

I don't doubt that liberty is at risk under the Obama Administration, but if we are talking Constitutional Liberties they were under attack during the Bush Administration as well. There's no way that the Patriot Act or its second Act or that the NSA's Carnivore is Constitutional. Not to mention the two undeclared wars we became ensnared in during the Bush Administration. If we look at the facts it becomes clear that the Republicans are just as much a threat to our Constitutional Liberties as the Democrats. Therefore we must do as Jesus Christ commanded and take the beam out of our own eyes before pointing out the splinter in anothers eye. (That's not saying that Obama's threats against Liberty are less than the Republicans only that Republicans who are blinded to unconstitutional policies of their own elected officials are guilty of hypocrisy).

You are right; our Constitutional principles have been under attack for decades and both parties are complicit in it. I think it was historian Forrest McDonald who said that political parties generally move in the same direction, but take different paths to get there. We certainly need to turn around and reduce the influence of government to preserve our freedom and way of life.

Unless our voices against the mandate converge,
Jews singing Black Sabbath may begin to surge.
Amish swimming through OSHAn ooze,
May soon play some Electric Blues,
And sing for our liberties a funeral dirge!

Its just pure Marxism at work.
