Ron Paul has issued a pretty
tough statement on the Obama administration's contraception
mandate:
In truth this mandate has nothing to do with healthcare, and
everything to do with the abortion industry and a hatred for
traditional religious values. Obamacare apologists cannot abide any
religious philosophy that promotes large, two parent, nuclear,
heterosexual families and frowns on divorce and abortion. Because
the political class hates these values, it feels compelled to
impose -- by force of law -- its preferred vision of society:
single parents are noble; birth control should be encouraged at an
early age; and abortion must be upheld as an absolute moral
right.
Paul also notes that some Catholic leaders supported
Obamacare.
Ron Paul needs to denounce his Black brothers in NAACP and
DNC.

denounce this monstrosity?
Clint| 2.13.12 @ 5:06PM
Dr.Ron Paul,
“I am deeply troubled by the flippancy with which President Obama
recently discussed regulations that are alarming and troublesome
for many Americans,”
“Not all Americans are comfortable with the Obama administration’s
decision to mandate coverage of birth control and morning-after
pills, and the considerations of these people, many of them
Christian conservatives, are worthy of careful consideration — not
mockery.”
“Many, like me, view this rigid regulatory overstep from which
there is inadequate opportunity to self-exempt as payback to
Planned Parenthood and big pharmaceutical companies for their
support of Obamacare,” Paul said. “Many others oppose it out of
strict moral conviction, and their voices should be heard at least
to the extent that an authentic opportunity to exempt be
provided.”

" LAKE JACKSON, Texas– Congressman and 2012 Republican
Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement
regarding the Obama Administration’s announcement that religious
organizations must pay for contraception and sterilization under
the national health care law:
“Forcing private religious institutions to pay for contraception
and sterilization as part of their health care plans is a direct
assault on the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious liberty. On
my first day as President, I will reverse this policy. Repealing
the unconstitutional monstrosity known as ObamaCare is a major part
of my Plan to Restore America.
“I am the only GOP presidential candidate who has consistently
opposed the federal promotion, funding, and mandating of
contraception and abortion. Unlike Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum,
I never voted to provide taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood.
And unlike Mitt Romney, whose Massachusetts health care plan
contained a contraceptive mandate similar to the one contained in
ObamaCare, I have never supported any government health care
mandates."
"Did it really take this long to denounce this monstrosity?"
No, this is not his first statement on the issue.

He needs to expand his doctrinaire individualistic ideology to
include the role of intermediate groups i.e. institutional
religions, voluntary associations etc.----that make up the civil
society and act as mediators between the soulless State and the
individual..

More than a few leaders in the Cqatholic Church endorsed
ObamaCare.
Face it. Most American bishops are dyed in the wool liberals,
and as a Catholic, that disgusts me.

A total of 86 bishops have spoken out against the Obama/HHS
mandate publicly.
Bishop Olmsted of phoenix, Archbishop Dennis Schnurr of
Cincinnati and Bishop David Ricken of Green Bay, Wisconsin
suggested the same in their public statements.
“We cannot – we will not comply with this unjust law. People of
faith cannot be made second-class citizens. We are already joined
by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good
will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our
parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build
America’s cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions,
its enterprise and culture, only to have their prosperity stripped
of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has
always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect
her sacred rights and duties. I hope she can trust on this
generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and
grandchildren deserve nothing less.”

As I recall, the USCCB supported Obamacare. I have little
sympathy for them now that their pig has been stuck and they are
squealing. If they really believed something like this would not
happen, then they are utterly unworthy their positions. In most
cases, they are truly unworthy of their positions.

" As the U.S. bishops’ letter of October 8 ,2009 states:
“No one should be required to pay for or participate in
abortion. It is essential that the legislation clearly apply to
this new program longstanding and widely supported federal
restrictions on abortion funding and mandates, and protections for
rights of conscience.
No current bill meets this test…. If acceptable language in
these areas cannot be found, we will have to oppose the health care
bill vigorously.”
For the full text of this letter and more information on
proposed legislation and the bishops’ advocacy for authentic health
care reform, visit: www.usccb.org/healthcare.
Congressional leaders are attempting to put together final bills
for floor consideration. Please contact your Representative and
Senators today and urge them to fix these bills with the pro-life
amendments noted below. Otherwise much needed health care reform
will have to be opposed. Health care reform should be about saving
lives, not destroying them."

In my backyard at least one Catholic Dem backed ObamaCare. Rep
Joe Donnelly was one of the deciding votes in the House (he was
part of Stupak's Gang). It took several calls from Fr Jenkins and
Fr Hessburgh (Notre Dame) as well as bullying from Pelosi and the
Oval Office to get him on board. Donnelly insisted on a promise
that a strong religious exemption be put into the bill. Obama gave
him an Executive Order (which has since been dropped) which
exempted Christians from the abortion mandates. Now we've come full
circle, and Donnelly will be running against Lugar for Lugar's
Senate seat.

Do you agree that undocumented workers do not have the same
rights as legal citizens? If so, then why would you consider
something inside of me that is totally dependent on me for life to
have more rights than I do as a legal citizen? My body belongs to
me. God gave me that right and no government or religious
institution can take it away. I disagree with Ron Paul on this
issue.
