First, it looked like Donald Trump was going to endorse Newt Gingrich. Now, as both Jeff Lord and Ross Kaminsky have noted, it looks like he’s going to give his blessings to Mitt Romney.
Before the day is over, I wouldn’t be surprised if reports surfaced stating that Trump is planning to endorse the American people. Honestly, does it really matter who Trump endorses? Because after this season of The Apprentice is over in May, I bet you dollars to donuts he is going to threaten yet another presidential run.
With that, I am now tuning Trump out.

In a word -- no. Endorsements are worthless. And an endorsement from Trump is worth even less, still.

Yes Trump' endorsement matters, and mostly to Romney [since both come from the business/private sector field professionally]. Trump' proclamations concerning China's financial abuse of this country through their yuan/currency manipulations and his proposal/requests of tariffs placed upon Chinese goods imported into this country are key. If Trump endorses Romney, and if the latter thereafter becomes president, expect major/wholesale changes of this country's dealing with China. Since a actual decoupling of the Chinese yuan from the American dollar is probably impossible to obtain from the selfish Chinese, the probability of a Romney admininstration instituting serious/substantial tariffs upon Chinese imports would be great. What would same mean....the cheaper goods that everyone purchases from Walmart etc would be replaced by American manufactured goods. The other edge to this sword comes from the labor union excessive wage scales causing American made goods to be too highly priced. Unless congressional legislation could be instituted to outlaw [or seriously dilute labor unions' infleunce upon same], American good would continue to be too highly prices. If however legislation could dilute the labor union effect upon same, American goods could thereafter replace these now Chinese goods at a reasonably prices alternative in American stores. so yeah, Trump's endorsement matters!!!!!!!!

What t'Rump is doing is thinking he's setting himself up for a VP pick. He's delusional enough to think that his endorsement is actually a positive even though polls show that who he endorses has a negative effect.
If Romney doesn't pick him as a VP pick, dollars to donuts he threatens to run as an independent during the Republican Convention...
