CNN is Despicable

John King and his staff are despicable to open the debate like they did. Gingrich was right about that. I cannot believe they started off by going right to the "open marriage" question. Outrageous. Unforgivable.

CNN is Despicable

Who knew?

Hobbes| 1.19.12 @ 10:44PM

I sense a double standard. It is perfectly fine to attack .... a democrat for their hypocrisy, but not The Newtster. The guy is lower than slime mold. Dr. Ron Paul is the only candidate with any principles.

Dai Alanye| 1.20.12 @ 12:00PM

Unless Marianne Gingrich is believably refuted, when the general election comes this scandal will cook candidate Newt's goose. Obama's favorite election tactic has been to dig up sexual scandals about his opponents, and Newt is handing him one on a platter.

Gingrich might be able to skate through the primary campaign by blaming the messenger but the massive criticism the Dems will gin up during the general will be overwhelming. Think of a situation where every women's group in the nation is after his hide.

The basic problem is that Newt is unable to justify his behavior and unwilling to stick with apologies. Counter-attacking will eventually reach its limits.

Yes. The Principle to actively recruit donations from StormFront and Spotlight. Principled Ron.

O Tamandua| 1.19.12 @ 8:52PM

Gingrich's daughters have just come out and categorically denied that their Dad wanted an "open marriage".

And again, as Rush Limbaugh says, given how Democrats seem to think we want no sexual limits (between consenting adults, of course) I don't see how even if he had it should even be a campaign issue in their eyes?

It seems that all they wish to do is start a cat fight among the candidates. WHY do we keep playing their game? If I was any one of them...I would cal the others into a huddle, right there on camera and make a quiet pact ... to not play CNN's game. all of them are being suckered.

Regards,

Mike

Gingrich is way too moderate from my point of view, but it is ridiculous for the leftist media to harangue him about his past marriages over and over again. He's given his answer, move on.

bill| 1.19.12 @ 10:12PM

The MSM ought to destroy Gingrich.

Occam's Tool| 1.20.12 @ 6:34PM

Well, Clint, that would seem to be easy, since you are afraid of guys with colostomy bags. If we could find you. Which is impossible, since you are a typewriter commando. Which is fine, because---Paul is gonna finish 4th in SC. At best, a dismal 3rd.

Thus begins the "Rocky gets the shit beat out of him" portion of the Paul campaign, with the Paulbots as Rocky. Only problem? The other Candidates are Clubber Lang, and it's the first fight. My prediction for Saturday night for the Paulbots? PAIN. Yummy, yummy pain.

Oldefarte| 1.20.12 @ 12:36PM

Nah, that was Ron Paul who said that!!!!

Mike 3/505| 1.19.12 @ 9:50PM

Gingrich gave the most honest/least pandering answer to the illegal immigration question. As a conservative, my desire is to "round 'em all up and send 'em home." Gingrich understands that ain't practical. His proposed solution is. Problem is, it's too easy for folks to holler "Amnesty!"

Jake| 1.19.12 @ 9:54PM

The Gingrich daughters should not have any idea of the particulars of their father's marital relationship with his second wife.
Unless the Gingrichs are even kinkier than we know.
This would be like Chelsea Clinton declaring that her father did not have relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky .
A normal father does not make his daughters vouch for his fidelity.

bill| 1.19.12 @ 10:11PM

Gingrich's daughter knows because he was there and witnessed everything, and can vouch for her father.

DRed| 1.19.12 @ 10:26PM

She watched him bang a much younger woman for six years while lying to her step-mother about it? kinky. Newt did a great job with the questions about his ex-wife tonight, but it doesn't change the fact that he's an enormous hypocrite. I guess it's wrong to ask a man about his infidelity as long as his name is Newt Gingrich, but perfectly appropriate in all other situations.

bill| 1.19.12 @ 10:46PM

Newt is not n hypocrite. He is surging in the poll, and that scares Obama and the Dems. CNN teamed up with DNC and attempted to distort Newt's image, they failed and CNN is hypocrite, not Newt.
For the record, Newt never lied and is a man of conviction and faith.
Bill Clinton was convicted of perjury and rape, yet walked away because CNN protected him.

Willis| 1.20.12 @ 7:34AM

Knowing what we know about politicians, and knowing what we know about the media, it is a certainty neither will change. Therefore, perhaps we should just enjoy the show if we elect another married president who likes to date around.

bill| 1.19.12 @ 10:10PM

CNN is Obama's re-election team, along with MSNBC, ABC, and CBS.

Hobbes| 1.19.12 @ 10:45PM

You're so deep.

Benson II| 1.19.12 @ 10:43PM

In an alternate universe where Obama was King the first thing he would do would be erect gallows and hang all those who had helped him to power for fear they would use that power against him.
It's obvious the supporters of socialism have never read history about what happens to the handmaidens.

bill| 1.19.12 @ 10:48PM

Hello, SC, the land of liberty. Please VOTE Newt Gingrich on Saturday. Do not let the Dems steal the election.

Oldefarte| 1.20.12 @ 11:09AM

Of course CNN [and the MSM in general] is despicable for asking a political candidate about such personal issues. How does King or any other worthless journalistic whoremonger have the right to do such? If true [which could be doubtful, given that ex-wives have a unterior motive to smear their former marriage spouses any anyway possible], that issue has no bearing upon the administrative/managerial capabilities of a candidate. Possibly the impeachment charges of our former president could have been relevent in that his similar activities involved his being a taxpayer-paid governmental employee, but in this present situation, this political candidate is a private citizen until sworn in as president. This holier-than-thou moralistic attitute existing today is asininely used as political weaponry against candidates, and has got to cease. These idiots desirous of using government dictates to morally influence society as a whole is stupid and insane. Morality will be improved by religious/church affiliations and within society's personaly desires to improve their behaviors, not by governmental edits [and the attempt to accompolish same is comparable to radicalized Muslims politically taking over governments in the Middle East and abusing their populations from their religious proclamations/punishishments]. Anyone wanting the improvement of morality should simply join a political movement to drastically improve our public school system, and to establish on a purely voluntary basis a subset of morality/religious teachings to students most of whom do not receive any form of such teachings/instruction/guidance inside their home environments. Governmental editual demands along these lines is imbicilic, and to require such morality standards of potential political candidates as a prerequisite of governmental qualifications is absurd!!!!!!!
